Anyone see Fields well over 1k season?

disclaimer for the inevitable responses.. this is in no way saying TL is a bust, nor is it rooting against TL.. just looking at the film currently on tape for all players mentioned. TL may not have much film but his run speed / quickness I haven't seen many ppl acquire that you kinda have it or don't.

Hurts is not some electric runner lol. He's running the read options better, which is something that takes time to master. He did it at Bama, did it all the damn time at Oklahoma and has been doing it for over two years when Philly literally changed their whole scheme to fit their QB. Everything the do is based off those read options and RPOs.

Lance has one yr of legit starting football and it wasn't straight up a bunch of RPOs and read options.

go watch Hurts day 1 in Philly vs now. Shocking he improved at everything including running those read options

You discount Hurts and I recall debating folks telling me Minshew was better, although i don't hear that take anymore. He squats 600 lbs. He owns the NFL record for rush tuddies for a QB. Electric is a silly descriptor. It's power he runs with. He trucks ppl. Would be interesting if TL really overclocked his timecard in the weight room.. see what happens.. gonna need some physicality

Yes. It's a football play. Other teams do it all the time. Do you guys watch other clubs? Ya really oughta watch some other clubs sometime.

not just that, Trey does have the option to not keep it and run. He has to learn that he doesn't need to keep the ball every time

Oh, I'm not one of those people calling for Kyle abandon that or any of the QB running concepts. I don't believe in playing football scared.

It'll be funny watching people squirm and get triggered when Kyle does dial it up.

also yes you are correct.. can't play this game scared.. gotta prax get a feel for it and on gameday let it go
It's hard for me to understand why people can watch how Hurts has developed over the last couple years and not see that as a possibility for TL. Especially with Kyle running the show, instead of happy pants Siriani.

How did Zach wilson do in his 2nd year? How about Mac Jones? I could go on.
We all hope that Lance will show more development in his 3rd year but what sucks is there are far more prospects that have regressed then succeeded.

First, they don't have the same build. Lance's body is more along the lines of a Josh Allen type.

Second, Hurts has played an awful lot of football, in high pressure environments dating back to his time at Alabama. Lance has barely played at all.

Sure, him getting to Hurts' level is a possibility. So is him completely bottoming out. Nobody knows. The guy hasn't played football.

Week 1 they mentioned on air that Allen is a unicorn and TL isn't built like that.. he's not built like Hurts either. Each guy is unique. Guys can hit the weight room and change. I recall rook Fred Warner, vs 2nd or 3rd year, he got jacked. Not uncommon.
I wonder what Trey weighs now. He was only 20 years old at the time of his Pro Day and weighed in at 224. I wouldn't be surprised if he's close to or in the 230s now. He's a big dude.

One reason is that Hurts played in 53 games and threw almost 1,1000 passes in big-time college programs while Lance played in 19 games and threw just 318 passes at a much lower level. So, while that does not disqualify Lance as a possibility, it does suggest a longer developmental time in the NFL. Of course, that is what everyone was saying about TL before he was drafted.

Now, with Purdy showing so well, folks are less willing to give Lance the time. That is all moot for now as Lance is going into OTAs in the QB1 position until Purdy gets fully healthy. Now is Lance's time to show that he has some of those intangibles that have made Purdy so successful. Let's hope he can because we have no other choice right now.

Thing is most of Hurts experience wasn't in a pro offense. So outside of the RPO stuff the Eagles do he had to learn a ton of things. All that experience wasn't THAT helpful.

Purdy experience WAS helpful because it was in a scheme that actually fit closely to what the 9ers do. Lance scheme was similar too but as you said less experience at a lower level.
