That being said, it might not matter if Purdy plays like he had been before the injury. I'm not sure Lance can play that consistently well going forward. I'd love it if Purdy shows he's the guy again.

I think they're both gonna show themselves to be the guy and that we're going to have some very GOOD problems by year's end!

Sure CMC will help but we didn't take a guy 3 overall to do RB dumpoffs. You don't need that kind of investment to check down.

You check down when you have a threat like CMC
At the end of the day I trust Kyle and Trey to figure it out as well as I trust Kyle and Brock. I'm telling you all barring any setbacks health wise we're in good hands with the 22 and the 23 year olds we have!

No doubt.. and we will

I feel TL strength isn't short area accuracy.. it's not why we took him at 3. we drafted a rocket arm QB to do more. and I feel teams will crowd LOS for two reasons: to stop our check down / screen game and TL run action.

TL gonna have to hit downfield to back off Ds. Would help if we got some guys to win downfield. Our 2021 deep threat was Benjamin and we had some shot plays to RR3 in 22, DG drafted perhaps for this role. But is he ready? FA who can get downfield wouldn't hurt this club.

That is not shanny's offense. Trey was brought for a lot of talents. Dump offs is part of the game

I actually think his pocket awareness is underrated. To me it's just getting the ball out on time and staying in rhythm. Those are the biggest concerns I have for Trey.

When he does this, I admit he does look good throwing when he is in rhythm. He just isn't usually in rhythm.

Hope he throws a ton this summer to the point the arm falls off he needs the reps I think the rhythm comes with experience. See Smith, Alex, who was nonfunctional to start his career, pretty on it as a vet. We got to accelerate this process for TL.

You don't want to overwork. Guys can get arm fatigue.

All this love for someone who will never be more than a QB2 back up at the 49ers

At this point my biggest question with Trey is accuracy given the limited play we have seen from him. Hopefully he works on the mechanics and touch etc. Again we wont know until he's back out there.

Agree. For me it's this plus pocket awareness and instinct.

I liked his pocket awareness and instincts from what I saw...but it was only a few games so pretty much everything is a question mark and not known.

All he was missing was playing more games and having the game slow down a bit more - and then assess accuracy at that point once he got some starts under his belt. He never got those starts under his belt so we don't know yet.

No one knows. That's the issue people have with many in here - take 3 games and extrapolate and declaring the trajectory of.a dude's entire career and how good he is in the present when NONE OF US KNOW whether they are Trey supporters or detractors.

He has started 3 games.... NON-CONSECUTIVELY. Tough to get into a rhythm consistently methinks. So he looks get throwing when he is in rhythm but people dont want to give him games to play in order for said rhythm to become more consistent... craziness.

I think Lance can play that consistently well if he is given time to develop and play games. Plus added things Purdy cannot do. But none of us know one way or the other yet.

But if you're hurt is what it is if you can't be on the field.

Yep that's what he wants so terribly. If Trey starts the year he will be rooting against him just so he can be right since he is so dug in here on sh****ing on Trey.

He is forbidden from celebrating any success Trey may have in this league and for the 49ers with these declarative hot takes based on 3 non-consecutive starts. Along with SD and the others here.

Guys who are ready to play play.. guys who aren't don't. See Purdy, Brock among countless others. TL has looked okay in his time, not bad I would say. But the idea you need play time to perform, you don't. We act like these guys don't throw or get prepared outside of regular season games.
