Lol okay Kittle said this about Lance

"I think [Lance] has one of the highest ceilings I've ever seen before," Kittle said on KNBR in April. "Some of the things you see him do on the football field, and you're like, 'Holy cow, I can't wait 'til he throws me passes.' "

And the reporters just watch and report the practices…Brock was a 7th rd pick. He wasn't playing well in camp man. He threw a lot of INTs and most in here thought he would be cut. You don't have to make s**t up. Doesn't mean Brock stinks. He played pretty damn well this year.

What a load of BS. Kyle, Kittle and a bunch of others have been singing Purdy's praises from the efforts he put in during training camp, off season and practice all year. They all have been saying how impressive he was.

On the other hand it is obvious to anyone who is objective about football that Lance has been underwhelming, particularly on the field where he looked like a deer in the headlights and was clearly not NFL ready.

Purdy has the QB1 job and that is where things will start in training camp and the beginning of the season.

Lance will be QB2 unless FO decide to hire a veteran QB.

I don't think it has sunk in to a number of posters that Purdy did what Lance should have done if he was to justify the trading of our number 1 picks and this Lance should have come out balling from the get go. Purdy did and kept repeating it. Purdy has the QB1 job because of his stellar performance. Lance gets to hold the clipboard.

Lol oh now we're just making up s**t. Dude why are you even in this thread?

You are the only one making s**t up. Go and read DJ's post in the Purdy thread. Kyle, Kittle, Warner, coaching staff were all over the moon with Purdy and his rapid development.

Just because you are a Lance fanboy doesn't mean what you say is right. If fact it is wrong. As for me being in this thread, please justify why you posted 5976 posts in the Jimmy G thread moaning and whining about him before you try to limit my free speech lol

He already knows where to go to go with the ball and has the football IQ and intangibles to learn everything else pretty quickly. It's just his accuracy is off due to his mechanics such as foot work and the slight hitch in his release which again is also due to the mechanics. It's far different than Zach Wilson for example who's issue is he just doesn't know where to go with the Football and is horrible at his reads. Trey is throwing the ball to the right player the majority of the time but has just been very inconsistant at hitting them or hitting them on time.

His mechanics are fine. Accuracy is more based around timing and repetition.

There's information to be gleaned from public comments... but I'd be cautious about putting a bunch of weight in players presenting a positive public spin. How often do you see players get crushed by their teammates in the media? It rarely happens. When it does, especially if it involves a high profile prospect or player, it's a big story.

It was true, but it's not the only consideration. The team has more priorities than developing Trey Lance. It's an extremely rare case to see someone arguing he can be developed without playing. Nearly everyone agrees he needs to.

We can disagree about the correct path to take, but if we're going to have productive conversations it would help to consider all angles of the arguments.

Hundreds of guys sat and balled out when there moment came. We just saw one for much of our season.

It's a tired point from NY that we spent a long time hashing during 2021.. I wouldn't trade how 2021 went for anything. KS sets the chart and had a bunch of chances to put TL at QB1. He declined to do so, presumably cuz he wasn't ready to be QB1. NY posts that KS is essentially unquestionable, except when NY wants to question KS's depth chart along these lines.

We were up 10 in the NFCCG and I don't think anyone turned off their TV until the game was over. We had every chance that year to win a Super Bowl. We made the final four, and 3-1 vs the SB teams. We beat both the SB teams in their own house. Great year. I don't think it's on KS QB depth chart that we lost, I think it's players not executing final moments, Tartt I am looking at you.

Why not look at Jimmy too. He only put up 17 points. Not good enough.

But most of us already knew he wasn't good enough.

I'm talking about training camp. Cut the s**t. I'm not a lance fan boy. I wanted fields. I want Lance to have the f**king opportunity to play football to see what he can become. Good/bad whatever get the answer. You don't give a s**t about that and are so far up Jimmy's ass that it was never gonna happen for you.

You showed up years after I supported Jimmy (Or were nowhere to be found in that thread). I wanted to trade for him! Jesus Christ. I gave Jimmy YEARS before making my case to move off him. You didn't even give Lance a single game.

So save me the Jimmy b******t. That's all it ever is with you and your debates are all based around that. We all know it.

So Kittle loves everyone. Great person to get objective opinions on.

Not the way I look at it. He's just not putting a bunch of weight in that Kittle comment. Neither am I, and I was providing some explanation for why.

Confirmation bias…he's searching for it which imo is a form of trolling. Especially since he can't acknowledge kittle's comments about every damn player. He loves everyone lol

It screwed over the Niners and so they went to plan B which is try to trade for Stafford but the Rams beat them to it. So then they went to plan C which is draft a QB but not only draft one but one with a similar skillset to a Watson or Josh Allen. They definetely didn't want another Jimmy G. They wanted a QB that can either do much more or had the potential to do much more.

That may very well be the case. We probably will not know the full story ever, or least until years down the road.

Either way, my personal opinion is that winning the Super Bowl should be the top priority (when you have the team to compete) and a key part of that is playing the best players you have. If Lance's development suffers as a result, there's nobody to blame but management. They've been great overall, but I think this was a pretty clear fumble.

The fumble was starting Jimmy in 2021 as he was never good enough to get us over the top.

He started 3-5 not hard for Trey to come in and do better than that. Jimmy was playing like doo doo
