Especially when they have another young QB who in his 8 or so starts ended up with a higher passer rating than Mahomes and won every game he completed. It was a bad pick getting a guy who was so inexperienced in college and has only played three complete games in the NFL in 2 years. Injury aside, he will not be playing much football at the 49ers during his rookie contract.

You're gonna be dead wrong and I'm not sure you're accepting what we've already seen to start last season. Was it NOT a super bow roster then?

Ooh I thought he was retiring bc Lance may be the starter lol

Woah! I hope some of our fans don't retire on the cause of that.

Oh wait! Yes I do

He blew it outta proportion, because of something I said. Which was Trent Williams might not want to play with Trey Lance or whatever something like that. People get all worked up around here, including me I admit.

For whatever reason, imo Trey is not going to be the QB we all wanted him to be. There's still plenty of time for him to prove that statement wrong, but if he was going to a great QB, we would have seen it by now.

Hope he proves me wrong though.

Man only played one college season. You're foolish to think he was gonna hit the ground running at the jump.

Why, Brock Purdy did.

Kyle ran trey 17 times between the tackles. That shows you pretty clearly the level of confidence our staff has in trey to lead the team, TODAY.

That wont change in 7 months. If Brock goes Tommy John its not trey who'll be getting the call.

You thought Trent would turn down $20 million in 2023 because he didn't want to play with Trey? Is it because you think Trey sucks that bad, or because Trey is so toxic as a teammate that Trent would rather retire?

If Purdy is healthy, ready to go and continues the recent level of play, I don't see Lance starting .

That's your hope and dream. I'm seeing Hurts in the Super Bowl and Josh Allen made a deep playoff run. Both guys started poorly but it's where you finished. When we got beat by Hurts and he's in the Super Bowl right now I can just imagine Trey given time can be better. I feel the same optimism around Brock but some of you posters are soiling up this thread with stuff that I would expect to see from rival fans

If "if" were a fifth we'd all be drunk

I'm predicting Trey is gonna sleep with Trent's girlfriend given due time

He's going to be a Texan. Why are we still on this?
