Infinitely better than Jimmy when he was in his prime,..and he finished the deal too.

Here comes the StaffordClub, lol.
Sorry if I offended it's members.

If Tartt could catch your dude wouldn't have any rings.

Yes footwork and timing. All the talk about his throwing motions is really overblown nonsense.

Yeah, who cares about throwing motion and mechanics.

would love trey to have a quicker release like purdy or jimmy

That would be possible if he improved his mechanics and throwing motion.

Lol and if Jimmy was a better QB then Stafford, he would've done something with the drives after the Tartt drop

100% agreed. I thought his mechanics and throwing motion were great in college.

Footwork and timing are the backbone of what creates accuracy. Throwing motions aren't as big as a deal as some think…no QB has the same exact "throwing motion" no different then pitchers.

Footwork IS mechanics.

His footwork was not great. He looked like a 19
yr old QB. Heel clicky in his drops. Wasted movement etc. that's stuff that you get better at by doing it more and more. His throwing motion isn't an issue. It's not Tom Brady or anything but it's not a big deal. You can always tighten stuff up.

Well he didn't only change his footwork, that's for sure. He should go see Purdy's QB coach.
The only thing that really bugs me about Trey's throwing mechanics is this ball flip thingy he does. Most QBs pat the ball from their static carry spot and then bring it back to begin their motion, but Trey brings the ball up, flips it as he pats and then begins his motion. This is why his throwing motion feels long to people. If he simply eliminated this part, it would be much quicker. I think he will hammer it out in time, but it's a long process.

For comparison, here is Purdy. It's a lot more like Jimmy where there's no movement of the ball before the pat. Pat the ball and then begin motion.

He worked with Will Hewlett who works at QB collective. Same place that Kyle and a handful of his coaches would take part in.

here's an article explaining Lance, his throwing motion (and how it's not an issue) Will Hewlett talks about it.

here's a comment from him (Brock's QB coach)

"The old-school way of thinking is to get it up by your ear as quick as you can and get it out," Hewlett said. "This makes no sense to me. In fact, if you miss this backstroke part, the layback doesn't happen naturally. So we look for what we call passive layback — your arm has to give your hip time to get ahead. If you're too quick on the backstroke — some guys have a quicker backstroke but it times up with their hip right — then that may change the timing and sequence of his throw and he may lose velocity."

Wow, this is my first time reading that article, and it talked exactly about what I said about him carrying the ball high. I feel like he's not far away from have a blazing quick release--just a few tiny improvements and NOT an overhaul. Lower carry+eliminate flip=stupid quick release

Yup, good read overall. I feel like he made improvement in a short amount of time. Stupid young with not a lot of bad habits ingrained in him
