Eagles are a bad example. You can make it through the NFC without transcending QB play. An unfortunate injury for the opponent and we basically walk into the SB like Philly just did

For the playoffs maybe, but he was an MVP candidate during the regular season for a reason. He HAS been great this year.

Keep him in the pocket, don't try to pressure him and force him to be a pocket passer and he looks like garbage. Like 11 of 19 for 63 yards and a 64.1 passer rating like garbage in the NFCCG on 74% of the dropbacks where he wasn't pressured. Hurts is a fraud.
love trey's mindset, i hope he shines this offseason
I want Lance to start despite what Brock had done. Want to see Lance potential make good on the field, the same desire as seeing Brock killing it the past 7-8 games. Why not...

Duck City Lance will start.. no way he doesn't get the starting nod again even if he doesn't earn it.. Runner Up Kyle will never allow his Shananigans to believe that drafting Lance and giving away those picks was a mistake..
Dudes on the radio here talking about how Trey Lance is right next to their booth and they keep trying to wave at him but he hasn't noticed.

Depending on the radio show, it might be a plus in decision making.

Trey Lance interview with Rich was so good. Dude has all the traits of a great leader.
If it's KNBR, I don't blame him for not going out of his way to notice them.

Against weak teams and ok to average/mediocre defenses. He wasn't extending plays much at all vs Dallas as they contained him and Brock was relegated to looking like Jimmy without the oh no picks and making sound decisions and critical 3rd down conversions from the pocket.

Playing like Jimmy without the oh no picks, while picking up critical 3rd downs, and making sound decisions, is playing the QB position very well. And that was against a top 1-3 pass defense in the NFL. Purdy played very well in that game without lighting up the stat sheet. He did it as a rookie.

Regardless of facing an elite pass defense, QBs dont light up the stat sheet every game.

Dont care about the stat sheet I care about the scoreboard. He lit it up for just 19 points vs Dallas which often times will get you sent home. Dallas score 20 and we lose and the conversation becomes very different...Purdy is good but is he good enough as only 19 points sends Niners home packing...or Purdy plays a clean game but lack of explosive plays and field goals instead of TDs plagues the Niners once more as during the Jimmy years... Purdy contained by the Cowboys quick DLine and stifles the rooks off schedule brilliance during his preceding starts... etc etc. This is why QB wins doesn't mean a ton all the time.

Transcendent qbs are rare and even when their teams lose quality players and replace them with inferior players the team still wins because the qb is the difference maker ala Mahomes. I don't think Purdy can be that - but I think Lance can at his ceiling. Question is can/does he reach that ceiling or not.

I want to find out.
