😆 for sure!
really rooting for the kid. He has the mindset of a winner and a leader. I think the competition will bring out the best in both our young QBs

Everytime Trey talks you can see why they fell inlove with him pre-draft. Just oozes personality and maturity. A 22 year old shouldn't have this kind poise under a microphone. Now he still needs to perform on the field but if he gets there, A team is going to have a born leader. Hopefully that team is the Niners.
Wonder who is the other guy "floating around" as Joe said. Joe seems to have no faith in Lance, I guess that could be fuel for him idk. Extra chip on the shoulder. But what if Joe is right? Or what if Joe is wrong? Guess we will see. He seems to want the floater, whomever he is...who could it be?

IMO nobody is ever ready until they are. Trevor Lawrence wasn't ready but now he is. Justin Fields wasn't ready but now he is. You are never going to be ready until you play. And I don't mean just 1 or 2 weeks. Josh Allen wasn't ready for the longest time but now he is elite. I am sick of the "Trey is not ready" talk. It's the same song and dance since he was drafted. He's got to play or nobody will ever think he is ready.

He has had two chances and ended up injured in less than two starts each time.

It sucks but it isn't like the team hasn't tried.
I think he'll get the job if he blows Brock away in camp or of Brock isn't ready and if he doesn't get the starting job, he'll be a backup ready to take over if Brock gets hurt or struggles.

Agree with all. His interviews juxtaposed with Aaron Rodgers' are night and day.

Sorry if I offended it's members.

If Tartt could catch your dude wouldn't have any rings.

Lol and if Jimmy was a better QB then Stafford, he would've done something with the drives after the Tartt drop

Who said anything about Jimmy?

Lol everyone knows what you were up to. So every time you bring up your favorite comparison we're going to remind you how things actually played out afterwards. Nothing more than that and no one cares about that guy more than you do.

LOL

I don't care about Jimmy at all at this point.

You seem to care alot about Stafford on the other hand bringing him up constantly in all three qb threads and defending him even when he sucks.

I didn't bring him up. I replied to your post once again sharing your thoughts on him. Fail.

Dallas score 20 and we lose and the conversation becomes very different...Purdy is good but is he good enough as only 19 points sends Niners home packing...or Purdy plays a clean game but lack of explosive plays and field goals instead of TDs plagues the Niners once more as during the Jimmy years... Purdy contained by the Cowboys quick DLine and stifles the rooks off schedule brilliance during his preceding starts... etc etc. This is why QB wins doesn't mean a ton all the time.

Transcendent qbs are rare and even when their teams lose quality players and replace them with inferior players the team still wins because the qb is the difference maker ala Mahomes. I don't think Purdy can be that - but I think Lance can at his ceiling. Question is can/does he reach that ceiling or not.

I want to find out.

This is why three picks in the first round is so you can get a superstar QB and not just a starter

That is why Joe is 100% right about Lance.

Agreed. He's NEVER gonna be ready if he doesn't play. I don't give a s**t what anyone says about being a scout QB or sitting an watching. He will never be ready until he actually gets to play football…you don't get better at anything by not doing it.

Joe is just reflecting at his own life and how stuff shook out for him.

This. The not ready thing is the silliest reason. Can't wait to see it all play out.

Same good/bad whatever you gotta figure it out though. I remember I said before the season started, he could be a Hurts type QB early in his career and I got blasted by that. Oh if he's Hurts then he was a bust blah blah blah. How that looking now lol.
So I never got the hype on Lance being a like-able guy as in all the interviews I just never heard or seen anything really special? Nothing bad or anything but just never really saw anything. Just seemed generic I guess?

But wow, that Rich Eisen interview was completely different. I can absolutely see his personality and charisma coming out. Maybe he's more relaxed in that interview but he seems like a real cool dude and very likable.

Rooting for the kid, but Purdy isn't just going to give it to him. We're in a good spot where iron can sharpen iron for a few years. Both of these guys got a taste of starting and they're gonna be chomping at the bit to get back in there. We are in a really good situation. If they both pan out we pull of a rivers/brees situation and trade one for a huge haul in a few years
