I'm more concerned and out whether Kyle and John are 100% right and not Joe. He "doesn't even hang around down there much" so I'm not very concerned at all about what he has to say about this situation. I trust John and Kyle to handle their team correctly as they've been in 3 of the last 4 NFCCG and a Super Bowl thank you very much

Same good/bad whatever you gotta figure it out though. I remember I said before the season started, he could be a Hurts type QB early in his career and I got blasted by that. Oh if he's Hurts then he was a bust blah blah blah. How that looking now lol.

I always said that Brock had to beat Hurts and Mahomes for him to be the unquestioned starter next year but he didn't get that chance

Now Lance and Purdy will duke it out for starter this off-season.

Mahomes and Hurts represent the superstar ceilings that Lance was drafted to reach yet still Purdy demonstrated he was elite as a rookie could be in this system on schedule and that he could create respectably off schedule but I have not in his short time starting a superstar's potential

Brady never looked like one either yet he had a superstar's results!

We will get some answers this season about both guys and I'm optimistic barring successful recovery for both our young QBs. 22 and 23 years old

Its a crazy, but good situation. The competition will show us what we have. Trey says everything right. They have two young, very mentally strong QB's.

My guess at this point is Trey gets the nod, but will have a shorter leash with Brock around.

Yeah I think we're in way better shape at the QB position then people think

Right

Agree, nice situation we have. We're very fortunate after years of Qb turmoil.

Absolutely. And I think this offense is going to bevso much more wide open now that we don't have to perfectly short pass our way down the field all the time.

Dont care about the stat sheet I care about the scoreboard. He lit it up for just 19 points vs Dallas which often times will get you sent home. Dallas score 20 and we lose and the conversation becomes very different...Purdy is good but is he good enough as only 19 points sends Niners home packing...or Purdy plays a clean game but lack of explosive plays and field goals instead of TDs plagues the Niners once more as during the Jimmy years... Purdy contained by the Cowboys quick DLine and stifles the rooks off schedule brilliance during his preceding starts... etc etc. This is why QB wins doesn't mean a ton all the time.

Transcendent qbs are rare and even when their teams lose quality players and replace them with inferior players the team still wins because the qb is the difference maker ala Mahomes. I don't think Purdy can be that - but I think Lance can at his ceiling. Question is can/does he reach that ceiling or not.

I want to find out.

This is why three picks in the first round is so you can get a superstar QB and not just a starter

That is why Joe is 100% right about Lance.

We still pretending like Joe isn't basically talking about his own situation with the 49ers?
