Dallas Cowboys QB Trey Lance Thread

It's a bad experiment when the locker room feels like they can win with Purdy.

Blowing our chance at the #1 seed in hopes a player might develop will not sit well with guys like Tent Williams, Kittle, Warner.

They know they have a guy they can with. I get that Trey needs to play, but this just isn't the time to experiment. It's only going to cause turmoil

you get experience by playing

He will as Taysom Hill for the 49ers. With a small package of plays per game. Get better like that. While Purdy throws touchdowns and wins games.

Who f**king cares about what the locker room think about Trey seriously?
Some of these players were running to Mike Silver to say how they were so happy to see Jimmy back because with him they could win the Superbowl. And at the same time, Lance just had his ankle destroyed.
And those same players were saying after the Tampa game "We have a QB.". And it was only one week after Jimmy broke his foot. Players are fickle, that´s the reality.
The only person that can say whatever he wants is Shanahan. The rest, just play and shut your mouth and stop talking to Mike Silver. Or try to protect better your QB.

If Trey Lance is the starter week one, it will only be because he was way better than Purdy in training camp. Purdy is the starter and I think that in Kyle´s mind he´s the guy he was waiting for since he took the job in January 2017. So if Lance is able to beat Purdy for the job, that means he would have massively improved.
And you know what, the players will all be team Trey because they will have a better QB.

If Trey is the starter expect a high pick in 2024. I believe we finally do have our high picks back starting that year.

You don't see how this whole thing could fall apart if Kyle puts one player ahead of the team, who will be the favorites to come out of the NFC next year?

Something I hope rubs off on Trey from Brock are the pump fakes, jukes and hesis. Brock is incredible at getting defenders to stop their feet and buy himself more time/space to throw. The number of defenders that Brock froze with a pump fake or hesi step was impressive.

I'm torn on a lot of Brock's moves and elusiveness. The game when he ran across the field and hit Aiyuk in the end zone (Aiyuk dropped ) was spectacular, but he was absolutely DRILLED as he threw it. While it's great having a QB that can do that, it is EXACTLY how QBs get injured. Love the fact he's tough enough to stand in till the last second and take that punishment, but he needs to start watching how Tom Brady protected himself. We'll be pretty set at QB1 and QB2 for a while no matter how it shakes out, but we can't go through 3 QBs ever again.

Understand my point, the players are fickle. They will go with the best QB whatever his name is. Trust me that if Tom Brady had signed with the Niners, even if Purdy wasn´t injured, they would have forgotten Mr Relevant really fast.
The only person that matters in this case is Kyle. Again, if Trey is the starter it´s because he would be the best in Kyle´s mind. And the players would just have to go with it.
But the reality is that Purdy is what Kyle wants at the position and he´s the starter.
All I´m saying is that the locker room doesn´t matter that much at the end of the day. Everybody said that Jimmy was the guy in the locker room. Well after Purdy put 28 points in a half against the Bucs, things changed in the locker room.

Now Lance and Purdy will duke it out for starter this off-season.

Mahomes and Hurts represent the superstar ceilings that Lance was drafted to reach yet still Purdy demonstrated he was elite as a rookie could be in this system on schedule and that he could create respectably off schedule but I have not in his short time starting a superstar's potential

Brady never looked like one either yet he had a superstar's results!

We will get some answers this season about both guys and I'm optimistic barring successful recovery for both our young QBs. 22 and 23 years old

Winning the SB as a rookie was quite the measuring stick you and Ezekiel placed on Purdy.

What type of success would you need to see from Lance as a 3rd year Vet to remain the unquestioned starter? if he gets the nod.

Tom Brady has 7 SBs lol. Damn right we'd forget about Purdy (for the season) if we could get him.

Coaches that lose the locker room lose their job shortly after, so the locker room is important. If Trey wins the job then that would be awesome (assuming Purdy is still playing at the level he was to end the season).

Some posters seem to just want to give him reps in games that matter to see if he can figure out how to play. It's just not going to work in this situation, even if he has the potential. I'm all in if he actually wins the job, but Trey will get ran out of town if they try to start him and he's not ready

They have a much lower bar for Trey_ning wheels. 5 - 12 record would be unquestioned starter for them.

Doubt it.

Ezekiel was not impressed by Purdys run because he didn't light it up vs a top defense like Cowboys and didn't win the SB.

If that's the standard they place on Mr Irrelevant, I'm interested in hearing that they want to see from Mr. 3rd overall.
