To be so dismissive of Trey, literally to the point of hatred is foolish and petty. I don't understand how people can claim they are fans of a team while they actively root for a player on that team to fail. Kinlaw has given me more reasons to suspect he may not pan out than Trey has, but I STILL hope he gets it together and begins to contribute to the team's success.

Everyone should.

The most telling thing is the guys who were so adamant to defend Jimmy from all his hating (some real, some imagined) never say a word about these type of comments. Boast has been the lone exception i've seen.

I was talking about the dropped INT in the NFCC, he got lucky there.

You referred to him winning the SB, not the NFCCG. This is a sidestep since you clearly disobeyed your own rule regarding what's success and doing a great job as a QB (your entire team has to do well then you get the credit for it, lol).

Insert a player you don't particularly like and you stated exactly the opposite regarding their success that given year.

Instead of choosing to man up and address the double-talk, you chose to pivot to an out that doesn't exist and tbh I'm not surprised.

What double talk?

Stafford was lucky Tartt dropped that pass IMO.
If Trey is the starter next year, one area he will be judged by is team results due to expectations IMO.

Those are not conflicting.

Hope this cleared things up for you.

Most likely. The question is, will he able to keep it?

If TL puts in the work he can do whatever he wants to do, the ability is there. Last year Hurts said year 3 starts tomorrow the day they lost to Tampa in playoffs. In other words, he was talking about putting in the work. Lance mentioned taking a few weeks off, around this same time period, and I noticed the contrast. You will see Hurts on Sunday in the Super Bowl.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you just say you would sign Baker Mayfield, Jarrett Stidham, or Jamies Winston as our QB2, ahead of Trey?

And if that's true, why would you bench Trey for one of those players if you believe he has enough ability and we spent 3 firsts to get him?

We'll certainly hear some wows coming out of camp if he impresses.

Certainly. You are wrong. More about what would KS/JL do.

I am not saying sign ahead of Trey. Just sign so we have more than one QB on the practice field / OTA / camp. The depth aspect will be decided by the players during offseason, how they look relative to each other.

This BP thing may go on for a while, I don't count on him being around, until he is around. So it's less about TL, more about we need another guy cuz BP is very injured.

Those guys I don't think would command major dollars at this point, more like a one year incentive prove it deal. TL will be at his 3rd 49er camp if he can't beat out someone like Stidham, we got problems.

Right… its just that you said QB2, with Purdy as the starter, I assumed you meant QB2 not QB3 or QB2 with Lance as QB1. My mistake.

I'm talking names like Matt Ryan, Winston, Baker. Stidham we saw up close and personal. These guys are coming off challenging years or in the Stidham case unproven guy so I don't see these as break the bank moves, more like reasonable deals to get a high profile QB2 with starter potential. If BP needs an extended time away, we may have to go this route.

QB2 to TL maybe. I don't view BP as the starter of this team, as of right now. Until he is cleared to throw, then cleared again to practice, then we see how he looks in practice. He's a long ways off from being in the convo, and you have to see how he looks upon return, which is anyone's guess.

We will hear that even if he doesn't impress. TC reports are to be taken with a major grain of salt

Big difference. Kinlaw can be a part of the rotation while he tries to "get it". He can be yanked in and out of the lineup as we see fit. If a guy in front of or behind him plays better they will get more run. Yet Kinlaw would still be able to try to "get it"

The QB position is different. You should be playing the QB that gives you the best chance to win. You don't have the luxury of yanking a QB in and out of the lineup in hopes that he "gets it". You play the QB that gives you the best chance to win. That decision up to this point has been pretty obvious in every logical person's eyes.

Didn't hear much of it last year.

After just three damn games too where in the two losses he was still our best offensive player lol.
