That's probably what dropped Fields. It was a medical flag. Epilepsy which is controlled. But it scared some teams away picking high. Trey was such a question mark project with very little football experience. That's how he plays too. I hoped for the best. But I'm not sure I understand it.

They fell inlove with the person Trey is. You can have all the physical tools in the world but if you aren't wired right mentally you won't be successful. Mac Jones would have been a disaster, The guy has a bunch of character flaws and his arm is worse than Jimmy's and he can't move at all. I still believe Trey will be a star in this league. I just hope it's with the Niners. People just need to be patient.

I don't see the accuracy and mechanics. He also definitely doesn't read the field very well. Reading the field could possibly improve over time. But the throwing accuracy and mechanics are just so bad. Top it off he's not really the athlete he was hyped up to be. Not that blazing of football speed at least. He didn't run so any claims are just speculation as to what his 40 time is. But it's clearly slower than the hype IMO. He mostly gets popped and doesn't reach the corner or outside edges when running around. In game speed he gets run down a lot. Way more than Justin Fields or Lamar Jackson. That's for sure.

It's funny that Kyle decided to start Trey last season but for some reason he's not ready now. He had 2 starts and one was in terrible weather. Soggy field, rain and wind. Neither team could do much. Other than the busted coverage when Fields found a receiver left wide open downfield. That's hardly enough to evaluate a QB. If it was then Peyton Manning, John Elway and Trevor Lawrence would never have seen a 2nd season. If they can give O linemen 2 or 3 full seasons they sure as hell can do the same for a QB that they used a lot of draft capital to get.

To be fair, "best option" and "ready" are not mutually exclusive or inclusive. We will see this off season.

I see TL starting week 1..

Not a chance, barring any setbacks or a longer recovery time, you'll see Purdy under center Week 1.

And you should all come to terms with it.

I just don't see any way you can start this guy. He's not ready like Montana said. Inaccuracy is really bad. Were you not on this guy from the beginning? I hoped for the best. But I did lean a little more Fields if you wanted an athletic running QB. He was even more athletic and the big time program at Ohio State and everything too.

Really? Montana said the same thing last year and he started then. Whether you agree with it or not, it's actually quite easy to see.

Yeah and how did that work out for you? He got beat by Justin Fields throwing to scrubs like Dante Pettis. Dropping early games cost us the #1 seed. Road game in Philly and you saw the results. If you win some early games you don't need to win so many in a row at the end to have a good season and good seed in the playoffs.

Worked out for me just fine. I may not be quite as emotionally invested as others about how he played in his first game after being named starter, in horrible weather though. There was plenty in that game for him to learn from, and as long as he improves and doesn't repeat his mistakes, he'll be fine. Maybe that's why you don't want him to play anymore, if he does learn from those mistakes, and doesn't repeat them, you'll be wrong.

Niners lost to the Broncos solely because of Jimmy. If they win that game they get the #1 seed. And Fields did nothing in that game for nearly 3 quarters and then only got TD's because Niners committed dumb penalties after getting a stop on 3rd down. Fields only completed 8 passes in that game and 5 of them were dump off's. Fields also only had 28 yards rushing on 11 carries.

Yeah he just needs more time. He just needs better mechanics. He just needs better accuracy. He just needs to read the field better. He just needs to run faster and live up to the hype. He just needs warm sunny weather. He can't handle the rain or a wet ball.

If this guy is our starter expect a very high draft pick in 2024. Luckily we have our draft picks back starting in 2024.

Jimmy G wins that game hands down and we get the #1 seed. Trying to play a guy who was not ready threw the season. At least for playoff seeding.

Trey wins that Broncos game. All he had to do was have the sense to not walk out of the back of the endzone.

So you're better at judging Trey's accuracy, mechanics, field vision AND athleticism than Kyle. Got it.

You guys need to learn to just ignore this guy or just laugh at his posts. Stop trying to get in actual debates with SD.

Trey goes 5 - 12 if he starts the whole season. We miss the playoffs. He's a horrific QB at this point. He's not ready.

Year 3 and all we have so far are hopes and prayers.

Lance needs to take advantage of Purdys injury and show the world he was worth the 3 firsts and 3rd.

Hopefully Lance works turns out to be elite because looking back at the draft there were some good to HOF type players available in that draft.

Ja'Marr Chase
Jaylen Waddle
Penei Sewell
Jaycee Horn
Pat Surtain
Devonta Smith
Micah Parsons
Rashawn Slater

Very small sample size. Trey shouldn't be judged after only starting 4 games(one of them being only for a quarter and one other being in a monsoon). One of those games he also beats the Texans in a must win game in which he had 116.2 QBR. So if you are going to judge him on a small sample size you have to include that game.

Lol exactly. Not because he's trolling,...but because no effort at all goes into the responses.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
