Imagine if this were your kid and you'd give up on him or her so fast and naysay before they could even start. Where does this come from? This thought pattern in incomprehensible to me
I for instance never gave up on Alex Smith on any day he was a 49er because I had faith and maybe that is a fatal flaw for me being overly optimistic about all our players and our team's chances?
Therein lies the rub! The ones WANTING to be right are the ones currently not right. Assuming things will happen differently automatically.
I for one tell my kid all the time when she sucks. I push her to work harder. She thinks she can wait til the sport season starts up and just go to practice and everything is honky dory. Life doesn't work that way.
she was backup setter the previous year. The top 2 girks graduated. In watching my daughter i knew she needed to work before this season. I pushed for her to work. She refused to work on her own and what happened this year?
She lost her starting spot(assumed spot) and quit. I didn't root for my daughter to fail. It was just something that I seen potentially coming.
So like Brock and Trey, I'm not rooting against Trey. Just using my observation as to how I think it plays out
