The good thing is that Lance has another opportunity to show fans he was worth 3 firsts and 3rd, with Purdys injury. Let's see what he does with it. His story is not written yet.

Really? He won't get much of a chance when Purdy get healthy, which will be at the beginning of training camp. Lance is just going to be a back up here and will eventually be traded or leave for somewhere else.

You do understand that TC is in July, right?

We don't really know about return time. Lots of unknowns. Too early to plan with certainty.
The Trey haters acting iike the Texans game didn't happen. He completed 69% of his passes that game. In a must win game. Ended up with a 116.0 RTG. And while he only completed 50% of his passes vs the Seahawks after coming in for an injured Jimmy he had almost 200 yards of offense in just a half of football and ended up with RTG of 117.1. So really he was good in 2 of the 4 games where he played atleast half the game. And 1 of those games where he wasn't good in was a monsoon. But yes apparently he has only made 1 decent throw a game lol. There is a youtube video out there that shows about 40 decent plays he made in the 2021 season. That's quite abit when he only played 2 1/2 games. But acording to his haters he probally only made 2 or 3 that year.

He just needs to fall behind 33-3 to teams then put up a ton of garbage time stats to gain respect.

Surgery is set for Feb 22. Hopefully it's not Tommy John, but even without that it's gonna be around 6 months if everything goes well. Our FO won't rush him back and throw him out there without him being in football shape at the very least.

It's such a silly thread now for a kid who's played 3.5 games.

Your math ain't mathing! Purdy best case scenario should be fully cleared to practice 8/22/23. By that time TC is done and we're at the third and final preseason game!

Trey will have already prepared to start that game and the year at QB. Brock will be just hitting the field trying to whip himself up to game speed!

If you're observing you'd see that Trey is a helluva worker so I'm optimistic that he will be ready and I see this going well for us. Same as I would say for Brock and that same I used to say and believe for Alex Smith. That's because all I ever heard about was how hard they've worked at it

Have you been hearing Trey doesn't work?

I was going to edit my post and include that because i knew thst was going to be the response.

That isn't my issue with Trey. He clearly does. My issue is he is still working on the basics. Been rumored he's essentially been working on it fir 3-4 years now and here we are people still talking about what he can still learn.

IMO When you have to focus on the basics like him you can't focus on the things that make you a great QB.

What he is trying to learn now are what most QBs have figured out before they leave college. If not, they then struggle to make the leap.

Not saying you can't win with a limited QB. You can definitely do it. Trent Dilfer, Jalen Hurts, Joe Flacco and Kaepernick prove you don't have to be a good passer to take your team to the Superbowl. It can be done in multitude of ways. I just don't see greatness with Trey.

To answer your question again. By all accounts Trey does work his ass off.

Brock will be back around 8/22/23 and right prior to the third and final preseason game. TC is wrapping up by then and Trey will have already began to prepare to start the season as a Brock is trying to get back in game shape

I also rooted for Trey when he got drafted but for some reason he reminded me of Trubisky, another highly acclaimed NFL prospect because of potential but lacked in experience and only had a few college games in his resume. Just look where Trubisky is now. I hope for the positive, I hope for the best but I am just saying.

Did trubisky have Kyle and John trade up to three to take him to the tune of three firsts? I trust our guys not to throw it all away after 4 starts being as we never did that with Alex Smith

Only difference is now there's a Super Bowl caliber roster that must be accounted for
we have seen Kyle and John botch multiple first round picks so that doesn't help as well. Not saying Lance is a bust, just talking about their track record regarding 1st round picks.

bold - doesn't make me feel any better, he proved to be a big waste of time lol

underline - that's a pretty big difference there. Tough to sell "learning on the fly" when you have a very capable player ready now, that players are vouching for.

Even though his post was directed at me based on the opening line, I do remember that game well. Have watched it a couple of times. He played very poorly the first half of the game. Played better the second half. So it's not like he was tearing shot up all game. And let's not act like Texans is some measuring stick, when posters are down playing Purdys run because he didn't tear up the Cowboys defense and didn't win the SB.

regarding the Seahawks game he had every opportunity to win that game but couldn't. Don't really blame him for that though. Not everyone comes out looking like Purdy and Kap at first. Also, a chunk of his yards came off a busted play to wide open Deebo. I remember posters minimizing that when Fields did it. A lot of the other yards came during garbage time.

Lance has a lot to do with that. You can only base opinions on what we've seen so far. The rest is left up to hope and prayers.

Don't forget he gets credit for the Deebo TD that was a busted coverage. The same kind of busted coverage that posters denied Fields week 1

What is their track record regarding 1st round picks?

Thomas
Froster
McGlinchey
Bosa
Kinlaw
Aiyuk
Lance

Bosa is on HOF track but he was an overall consensus #1 pick. Thank you Cardinals lol

Aiyuk is turning out to be a very good player. I expect pro bowl soon from him.

So far only 2/7 are worthy of second contract. I guess you can say great track record.
