Ridiculous man. And we're supposed to all be adults

Actually it's kinda funny because it's starting to sound like guys here are helpless and hopeless when they should be excited

True. We may feel disappointed, but we should not feel disheartened about the team's prospects.
Here's how I believe the season will play out. At least in the beginning:
1. Garoppolo will not be back. It's pretty evident that Shanahan dislikes Garoppolo. It's not difficult to imagine why, so I don't need to elaborate.
2. Lance will be the starting QB at the outset of the season. Purdy will not have had enough time back to properly compete/prepare for the position.
3. I expect the team to win every game that Lance starts; if they don't, I do not expect that it will be because of his play. THIS IS NO GUARANTEE. However, it is not an unreasonable expectation. He will have had the whole off season to get back into sharpening up on the mechanicals. He has had all of the past season sitting on the sidelines watching and learning. Shanahan was confident enough to start him last season. He should be better now; not worse. And he has an excellent supporting cast to lean on.
4. The earliest the team can realistically expect Purdy to be ready to play is 8 months following surgery. If recovery progresses without hiccups, October at the earliest. If Lance is playing well and the team is winning, Shanahan will not make any changes. Purdy will be given more time to strengthen his arm. He has proven that he doesn't need any time to acclimate when needed, so there may not be an urgency to get him back in.
5. Depending on the status quo, Shanahan will observe Purdy's performance in team practices, take his time to evaluate if Lance gives the team as good a chance to win as Purdy, and make a decision going forward. In theory, as a dual threat, Lance has a higher ceiling than Purdy. but he has to prove that he can process the game at close to the same speed as Purdy. Purdy is elite when it comes to that. The better QB will win out. It may be an obvious call, or a very tough one. WE SHALL SEE.

If the team can limit its injuries in 2023, It should be an exciting season of football for Niner fans!

Now that Bobby Slowik is the OC in Houston, would you trade Trey Lance for their #2 overall pick??

I'd do it in a heartbeat then turn that pick into Jalen Carter of Georgia!!

While I don't think trading Trey is a horrible idea. I don't think we get a 1st. Let alone a top 5 pick

See, that's what I am thinking too. Jimmy is the ultimate insurance policy. Everyone says let trey grow into it but i think that's gonna end in tears. And you know what? With the way we go through qbs, trey gonna get plenty of reps next year anyway ready or not.

let the young guys play. Go let Jimmy get paid and be that teams guy.

How many times you gonna bet on a horse that never finishes a race? You talk about ending in tears…how many more times you gonna do that with Jimmy? That's a constant

IIt's very generous of you to sacrifice a year of all the veteran careers in the locker room. You are one swell guy. Aw. Do you think everyone in there agrees? How about we ask them. See what they're input is. Let's put that in the Wonderlic to see the final result. I'm sure they will be just as enthusiastic as you are.

Trading Trey Lance isn't a horrible idea, he gets to start over without someone looking over his shoulder.

I hope they could get a 1st for him, slim to none though.

Dude you want Jimmy resigned and Purdy to be his backup. You don't support Purdy or Lance. Stop with the crap we can all see through it.

No chance anybody would trade the #2 overall pick for this. Nobody would pick him #3 overall except us.

But, they will trade it for Purdy and I'd do that in a heartbeat.

I won't...but gotta troll the trolls.
With Treys age and his talent and upside I would greatly desire him as a player if I were a GM. Thing is the 49ers won't even entertain trade discussions right now for Trey as there are no equivalent alternatives for him and especially at his price when we have a team full of players we need to extend

Have you heard Lynch say Trey has done nothing to make them reconsider trading up to get him?

Ppl are straight haters. He'd be a top 10 pick (probably top 5 and 2nd or 3rd QB taken) in 2023 draft if he was coming out of college this year.

What? Have you read any posts in the last 4 months?

Why is the assumption that Trey playing a handful of games would sacrifice a year of winning? This is based off of him losing a game that was played on a lake last year? I can't understand how people are so impatient and reactionary. I really have no clue who Trey the QB is. And honestly, none of us do. The only people who might have an idea are the players and coaches he's with every day. Let's exercise some patience and root for all of our players to succeed. Or we can continue to be reactionary toddlers.

If we don't take him are we even sure he's top 10 in his own draft? Fields not going til 10 makes me feel like Trey would not have went top 10.

We'll clearly never know

No I would not. Now if Houston wants to offer 3 firsts, 3 2nds, and 3 3rds I'll listen :).
