If Houston thought enough to move a 1st for Lance, then one of our own (Ryans) clearly thinks Lance is a FQB. Why would SF think any different?

There's no point in moving Lance. He's young cheap and talented. Our other QB is getting serious ligament repairs on his throwing elbow.

We have ABT Anybody But Trey in full effect here bro!

Trey isn't Hurts. Sorry.

Trey is a linebacker.

Glad you got it figured out coach. I mean quality control. I mean Greg Cosell

I get that a mobile qb is important. Or even one that just moves around the pocket. And I get that's what shanny was looking for. But damn watching trey run doesn't cause make me feel giddy inside. He just isn't a natural runner. He's neither fast like lamar or powerful like Allen.

He doesn't jink like Purdy

He can do everything Hurts can do easily. Now the thing is I believe he can be better. If we're going to win it all in todays game where defenses are essentially neutered you gotta have a guy under center that can kill at will

Agree 💯%, he has the physical gifts at the Mahomes level. It remains to be seen if he has the Purdy/Mahomes intangibles. He has to be given a chance and Kyle has to shore up that OLine to give both Trey and Purdy a very long career. Unlike Luck, who had to retire early because of injury after injury. I think the draft will tell us how Kyle is thinking about the offense.

Personally i think he'll be drafting at least two offensive linemen in this years draft. Which is similar to the last two years.

Purdy is not gonna be able to compete come TC. He's gonna be healthy right at the third preseason game and then he has to work himself into game shape after TC is concluded 8/22/23

A vet ain't gonna know our system like Trey or a rookie. We will draft a rookie and Trey is QB1 all offseason and the start of 2023 until at least the bye week. Trey never went 3-5 and he won't with this team this year. He ain't Josh Johnson and we'll be fine

A bunch of bozos saying Trey will go 3-5 or lose 5 straight games if he starts. Like he's the only player on this team. The defense lost that game against CHI btw.

The defense gave up 19 points, including a short-field touchdown after Trey threw the 4th quarter interception. The drive started on our 20 yard line I believe.

If the defense allowed 19 points in every game they played, they would be the 3rd ranked defense by oppg in the NFL. While they gave up an ugly broken play touchdown to the Bears, they were obviously not the primary cause of the loss. The offense was. They scored 10 points against one of the worst defensive teams in the league.

You're right let me rephrase and say that the defense lost the game moreso than Trey by himself did. The offense as a whole couldn't score in the redzone and put up points though. The busted coverages really changed the game.

Why even invoke the Bears game? Just say look it rained heavy, we aren't counting that one, it's in the past, and we move on. No need to drag our D for that game to prop up TL come on man..

no need to analyze that game to death. monsoon like conditions, no kittle, no cmc, trey developing, defense busting, etc.

Trey threw a backbreaking interception which gave the Bears a scoring opportunity deep in our territory. They cashed it in for 7. We were down by 3 at the time of the interception and had only scored 10 points through 3 quarters against a terrible defense (allowed 27 ppg on the year).

The defense did not lose that game moreso than Trey and our offense. It's not even a close call. I won't put it all on Trey, due to the Deebo fumble and poor weather conditions as examples, but he did not play well and our offense overall was outright bad.
This Super Bowl shows how nice it would be if Trey developed to be able to react to things faster and improve that accuracy. He was a tick late last year and the year before, and his accuracy was simply not good enough.

Maybe Purdy is that guy. He played like it. But he didn't play like Mahomes and Hurts, in terms of being a threat for the entire field at all times, including the QB run. Trey has the talent to be one of those guys. So if you're asking what is the BEST possible scenario, it's this: Trey fixes the problems he has and takes over. If he does that, we have an elite offense. If he doesn't, Plan B is Purdy remains the starter going forward and we have a top ten guy for several years, but not a top 5 guy.

I love Purdy. Don't think I'm hating on him. But he'll never be in that Mahomes/Allen (and not Hurts) conversation, because he's not big enough, not strong enough, and not fast enough. Trey could, if by some chance he gets the rest (especially the accuracy and confidence in what he's seeing, neither of which he has right now). That's why Trey becoming "that guy" is the best case scenario, even if it's a long shot.

It was week 1. Who gives a s**t.

We're the 1 one seed if we win an additional game. Week 1 counts just the same as any other week.

Beyond that it's a football message board. Nobody's forcing you to be involved in the conversation if you think it's pointless.

Also #1 seed if a certain someone doesn't run out the endzone.

Bears AVERAGED 19 ppg on the season, so for the best defense in the league to give up that amount to them says the defense absolutely let us down. Saying they lost the game is a stretch, but the whole team contributed to that loss.

sorry for the edit, I know how anal you are on those.
