I'm just comparing him to Mahomes

Drastic difference between not being excited and actually rooting for a niner player to fail. C'mon now lol

LunchTrey

Trey-som

Gonna take 5 years for Trey to ever be mentally we're Brock is

Trey throws one good ball every game

Every team is laughing at 9ers for taking Trey

Clearly that's just not being very excited. Totally the equivalent of posting a video showing where Brock can improve.

Brock out played both Geno and Dak. I haven't heard otherwise, until now lol

didnt get a chance vs Eagles to out play Hurts.

All I've seen in the media is praise for what Brock Purdy did last season. The only detractors I've come across are in here. Saying what he did last season didn't mean jack s**t because he didn't light up the playoffs and win the SB lol

They ranked playoff QB on espn coming in and had Brock in the bottom three

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/35413498/ranking-nfl-playoff-quarterbacks-2023-dan-orlovsky-stacks-strengths-weaknesses-all-14

I swear it takes only a wee bit of research to see what I've been saying

I disagree with what they were saying all over SOME talk shows but it was consistent and annoying because I knew those teams weren't better than ours and that Brock was no scrub!

show me where it says Geno and Dak outplayed Purdy.

Here you are misrepresenting my arguments again.

In the limited time Brock played, his play was on par with HOF quality QB play. That's evident by a 111 passer rating, 4:1 TD-INT ratio, QBR, efficiency stats, etxmc. Extrapolate his level of play over an entire career and he'd be among the best QBs is ever. Obviously, and I shouldn't have to say this, it's an incredibly small sample size and drawing any definitive conclusions is absurd. I have done no such thing. I have only claimed that his NFL tape so far is elite, albeit a very limited look.

i never said he was the best QB in the league. You're building a straw man instead of arguing the actual points. It's bad faith and shows an inability to be reasonable, despite your claims of objectiveness. Again, while Brock was under center, he was among the best performing QBs in the league. The stats back that up. The eye test backs that up. That doesn't mean he's the best QB in the league. He'll need to sustain that level of play for multiple seasons before that's even an argument worth having.

Yes you did you said he was the best QB in the league when he was playing. You said he was playing at a prime Montana level…and I disagree.

There's no reason to toss out stuff like that. That's like saying Mostert was Emmit Smith if you look at what he did vs the packers in the playoffs.

WWhoa whoa guys let's be reasonable. Of course purdy hasn't proven he's Prime Joe yet. But I think there's some tantalizing behaviors which make me interested to see how he will progress. Don't you feel the same way? I feel like we were putting him down for some reason and we really shouldn't be. He should be applauded he's done a great job and showing some pretty interesting stuff. Is he Hall of Fame Joe of course we don't know. A lot has to play out before we can start making that determination. But I wouldn't start dumping on him to try and prove I don't know what.

And NY 85 that is straight out unfair of you to inappropriately drag mostert into the argument. Raheem was probably the best Oz running back in the NFL for a couple of years. I think we should just leave it at that. Thank you for your service to the 49ers. You were special. And we're sorry you're not here. I'm not sure why he's getting dragged in here and being denigrated. It's weird

Never said that. In fact I think Trey has a chance to develop in a different situation. A championship team with a young QB that did what Brock did is not the best situation to develop in. It just won't work. I'll don't think he's ready to compete with Purdy yet. If Purdy continues to play at a high level, we have to roll with the guy we know is good and not the guy we hope becomes good. He will have to become another teams project

LMFAO!!! Purdy isn't ready to compete with Trey at this point. You know, because his arm doesn't work. May not work for another year. Yet you want Trey off this team, regardless of whether or not it benefits anyone?

Let me know when Brock wins 2 MVPs and 2 Superbowls. Then you might finally have made your point.

Purdy had to compete with rehab. Trey was drafted to develop here by Shanahan himself. Handpicked so it doesn't matter what you or what think

Brock has more Mahomes in him than Trey. He doesn't need MVPs and SBs for me to say that smh

No one is saying Brock is Mahomes, just that there are aspects to his game that are reminiscent. Being able to make things happen when protection breaks down, for example. A kind of instinctiveness and creativity that really stands out. The sample size is far too small to make any determination. But as far as I'm considered, until he proves otherwise, I'm going to hope Brock continues to play at an elite level every time he steps into the field.

Idk where you get this. I just think a team that is competing for the #1 seed won't be cool with developing a QB as green as Trey when there's a better option. One that they truly believe they win SB with if he didn't get injured. I don't think he'll get his chance here, that's not hate lol. We will have to pay one and it won't be the unknown

.
Trey got tremendous upside. Can't teach a rocket arm and size. Just needs to be able to play for an extended period of time to show it IMO. Purdy also suffered a major injury (complete tear not just a partial tear or little tear) and likely will not be completely healthy at the start of the season. Trying to force him out there will only hurt the team and his career in the long run.

Hatred towards Trey is strange and kinda of unreal, definitely racial bias is involved in a lot of these posters that continually disparage Trey. I'd recommend other posters that support Trey and 49ers to just block them so you don't need to see their posts. Can't reason with haters.

I'm looking forward to Trey starting and Brock getting healthy. Having two young great QBs is essential for us as injuries unfortunately have been inevitable.

Well, they made Trey QB1 last year and he'll be the only healthy quarterback on the team to start this year, so you're either wrong about Trey being green, or the team's willingness to start him. If Trey doesn't work out though, we'll always have Brock to fall back on. Great position to be in as a fan!

Haven't heard anyone in media say Purdy got outplayed by them. Nothing you posted so far had showed me that.
