yes we have a Super Roster and no QB signing from FA is gonna fix the starting QB position. It's Lance/Brock or bust…unless Brady/Rogers walk through that door.

You have to put the whole argument together, lol. Once again, I specifically said you weren't finding a season long answer at QB1 with what we're willing to spend. We're not looking for a QB1! We're looking for a QB2 that could competently play in spots.

We agree that having 3 really good QBs is unrealistic. You know what else is unrealistic? Having good players at every position up and down the roster. We have come as realistically close to that as possible for 3-4 seasons now. Solidify the most important position on the field as best you can, as it has burned us in multiple contending years... even if you have to take a hit at another position.

3QBs should be the norm until we get this position / injuries here figured out. I'm fine with a draft pick as long as it's a real guy, not a guy actively shooting us in the foot.

MIA for example had a similar ride, they like us had a 7th round pick rookie starting, only theirs looked and played like a 7th round rookie, couldn't get the snap off. I could see us winning a Super Bowl with Mariota we are that loaded just need someone to manage it over the line. I am fine with TL if he can play and stay healthy, he needs to demonstrate he can do both.

Mariota ain't winning no SB. Jimmy is a better QB and couldn't get it done.

So you're telling me Brock played at a Dalton/Mariota level?

Facts are when you're forced to play you QB3 you're not in a place to win a Super Bowl 99% of the time…it's why the Purdy story was so great. He's an outlier.

Yeah you also thought Lance was gonna toss 40 TDs and throw for 5K yards…I'm sorry no objective fan think Marcus Mariota is winning SF a SB. I mean you must think he's better than Jimmy with that statement.

So let's not replace or upgrade at a starting position. So we can have what will essentially be QB3? Where are you getting backup from? We have two QBs on the roster. We have no idea what Brock's TL is right now. So let's stop pretending it's out for a full year.

People in this thread should be talking about Lance and him being the starter. Not what s**tty backup can we get…

Just read the Fred Warner interview. Different tone between Purdy and TL.

There a few others with similar differences in tone beween Purdy and Lance.

Lance has gotta earn that respect. This off season is his time to do it. You could tell by the way Lance was talking end of the year vs past years he's gotten more confidence and isn't just "happy" to be here.

I'm not pretending Brock will be out for the year. You're likely assuming I think that because that's the only scenario that you feel would make it worthwhile to spend some money on a vet free agent. I don't agree with that. I don't agree a QB we sign is 'essentially' going to be QB3... though it would possibly (and hopefully) end up that way.

I've addressed all of these things in detail multiple times in previous posts in this thread. Pointless to just keep repeating it over and over again.

I'll wait to see what news comes from Purdy's surgery, and then beyond that I'll watch to see what they do in the FA market.

Ya......there is definte enthusiasm gap. I dont ever temember hearing TL being complimented in the same manner in the past two camps.

IHe will absolutely have to earn that respect and it has to start now. I hope he does.

So what would this FA backup QB be if Brock isn't out for a lengthy time? I'll tell ya, QB3 and not active on game days.

Lance and Brock are our top 2 QBs. Bringing in any other legit backup without knowing Brock's situation is a waste of money that can be used for actual talent that will be playing.
