Explained that in original posts. Jimmy situation completely different. The only other outliers was teddy b and tyrod. And those were based on lack of confidence in their current QBs and new coaches coming in

Jimmy signed to be a backup, and he costed $7 because he was considered a high end backup. What is completely different about that?

Thank you lol.

Totally agree, he will be that high end backup. Toss him with a team that just drafted a rookie QB and had a ton of cap space.

Or a team who's going nowhere with their QB because he is mentally weak and likes to hurt the opposition. Need a bridge to get to the new guy.

😂 (not because I don't like CJ, but because of how impossible that would be to do).

Trade Trey for a 2024 2nd round pick. Add Deevah for a 1st round pick. Tag McG and then trade him for a 2nd round pick. Then move up for CJ. Trade CJ for Trey, Deevah, and McG + a first.

Yeah that should cost around $7M per without question.

I mean according to Faithful Stidham should be the Raiders starter (over Jimmy). Why not give him a cool million

Oh so because the "high end" backups make more they're good? GTFO

The discussion has been about signing a worthy backup, not a bad backup. It appears as though you aren't following the discussion.

It's subjective who is worthy and who isn't. My take is it's gonna be a real guy or to make that objective, someone with more starts in the NFL than BP and TL put together.

The room really lacks experience. 9 career starts with 2 guys. Could be wrong here but if I am JL I want a experienced, steady hand. Very real chance this guy starts games, as BP is rehabbing a loong time and TL has a very hard time staying on the field to date.

Give me a couple names you'd be happy with signing as a free agent. Perhaps that will allow me to better understand what you want at QB2/3.

I understand that. Over the past 2 seasons CLE & MIA are the only ones who paid for a true backup that fits the 6-8 price range that had been discussed.

Jimmy G wasn't a free agent he restructured down to 7mil. If you remember we gave Sudfeld a fully guaranteed 2 mil contract that could be 3mil. They considered him "high end" at around the price point that the going rate for a true backup is.

All yesterday the discussion was about signing a middling backup or a good backup, or what you just referred to as a "true backup". You started posting salaries of s**tty backups to make some pointless point about how backups can be cheap. Of course backups can be cheap, because those are the s**tty backups. I understand your point about how Jimmy was a restructure.

Baker
Winston
Brady - would be QB1 obv
Mariota
I liked your Kyle Allen suggestion (I think that was you)
not a big Heinicke fan, however I could get behind this one, has some Brock to his game if you really squint I suppose
Lock
I like Suds although he doesn't meet my NFL starts criteria

I suspect Dalton and Ryan may be toast, however if JL / KS evaluate these guys and are on board I could probably get on board

with our squad it is best LT, best FB, best wideback, 1k BA, best RB, one of the best gameday HCs, I mean how many bests do you need here?
would be a crying shame if we get to week 1 and BP isn't healthy and TL gets his usual knock and we got 17 games of JJ or Benkurt or that caliber of QB, would have to panic trade at that point and it would probably be too late in the process as you need time to get a new QB up to speed

Why not draft a back up QB?
