What if Trey shows more and looks better than Brock? We haven't seen what Trey looks like with CMC and there's a possibility he can look much better. Will Brock be the same after his surgery? You can't just say he's the better option right now without seeing what Trey can do in a streak of games. There's not a big enough sample size to really evaluate Trey.
The ground game is gonna immediately look better and the RBs and TEs are gonna love it!
We were confident enough to start last season with Trey at QB. This is probably one last major shot to make a case for himself, and if he does... then GREAT. It's a good problem to have two good QB's. Both are high character guys and the locker room will rally to whomever is starting.
If he doesn't perform well, well, that sucks. But hopefully the surrounding cast can squeeze out wins in the early season until Purdy can get back and healthy.
All in all, as much as the media wants to spin that the 49ers have this huge QB question... I'm confident we'll be fine. Just need to let things play out. And yeah, we need to make sure we keep our QB's healthy.
