Sounds like he will be heading to Texas to work with Quincy Avery. Like it.

Yes absolutely that's great compensation for an unknown who hasn't proven anything yet.
And who would be our starting QB come week 1?
I think It would take a lot for the 9ers to even consider trading away QB1 ( TL )
I can't understand the people that want to trade Lance based on 4 starts. He may prove to be a bust but he also could go to another team and become a good QB. Then those same fans would be screaming that the Niners made a huge mistake. Trading a QB after 4 starts when you gave up so much draft capital to get him would be foolish.
He has an opportunity in training camp and pre season to show what he can do. After that they make a decision based on if they see any improvement. They need to make sure Purdy is fully healthy and then make the decision on who is the starter. If it's Purdy as expected and Darnold looks good in Kyle's system then they can look at trading Trey.

Twenty million in dead money and penalties. Are people not aware that guaranteed money exists?

The only thing that matters is you have "The Guy". 3rd overall, Mr Irrelevant, 3rd rounder, whatever. If you have him then you have him.
100% this.
It's like people who b***h about first round whiffs but then conveniently forget we got the likes of Kittle in the 5th round.
Every single regime fails at certain picks. The key is to hit on enough of them, whether that be first round, 5th round, Mr Irrelevant, whatever.
All that matters is that we have a QB. If it's Trey, great. If it's Purdy, great. Doesn't matter how many times you miss if you hit on at least one.

These are nonsense takes. That would leave us with a rehabbing maybe on the PUP Brock and Sam Darnold lol.
We already paid a ticket for the ride. We are on the ride for year 3 and year 4 minimally.

I really don't know the answer to this question, but is it possible to make a trade where the guarantees are restructured, so whoever hypothetically trades for him, can take on the dead cap/guarantees? Is that what the browns were doing with mayfield?
im sure it's possible but I don't think it's a common thing. That's the only way I can see him getting traded. That and Purdy's rehab looks good at month 3. People are forgetting that Purdy can start throwing after 3 months. So it isn't like he will start throwing in there months. Although, it still sucks and will make him rusty no matter what.
i personally think Purdy will start day 1 if he is cleared, but if not, I hope lance shows out.
"A lot of people see pitchers get Tommy John and they come back even better and they think it's the surgery," Dr. Pandya said. "Actually, it forces you to really rehab and work on mechanics that you may never have worked on in the past, and kind of resetting things."

- NFL Pick 'em
Niners are not trading Trey unless some team offers them two 1st RD picks or a top 10 pick min. They would be the dumbest front office in history if they trade him for like a 2nd RD pick after what they invested to get him. And trading him without even giving him a chance which would make it even dumber if that is even possible. "Hey we are going to trade three 1st RD picks to take him at 3 so he could go be elite for somebody else".

I think at this point, unless Lance all of a sudden becomes a star, the trade was a big time bust regardless. Using three first round picks and not playing for years and when he has, been okay at best - it's hard to look at this trade as good in any way at this point. Obviously, he could prove me wrong and ball but it's pretty unlikely.
im not mad about it though, I prefer my team to take these kind of calculated risks. It is what it is. Trey will be a decent player in this league but I'd be shocked if he ever lives up to his draft status.
the big thing with Trey is QB depth. He's going to become a very expensive backup really soon. He literally lost to the worst team in the league in his only full start last year while the last pick in the draft set tons of records and won every game he was able to finish.

another offseason and another QB coach to adjust the Treyning-wheels....
This is such a joke! A top pick that needs to continually go to a qb guru to see if he can learn how to throw the football

Da f**k you talking about? He's worked with Avery previously. That was his qb guru during the draft process.
Lol if you don't think QBs go to QB gurus/coaches during the off season. Watson/Dak/hurts work with him every yr.
Joe Burrow and Josh Allen work with Jordan Palmer every off season.
you clearly have bo clue what you're talking about. Quit with the stupid bias posts

None of these established NFL QBs see their private qb coach to learn how to throw the football like Lance is, they are just tweaking minor mechanics that they got away from during the season. TL can't hit his azz with both hands let alone consistently hit open receivers (54% completion percentage is pathetic), simply because he is not a natural passer nor will he ever learn how to be...
