You could be right and both the #2 & #3 picks in that draft may be busts but I don't know how a guy that hasn't played can be labeled a bust.

People act like when he did play that is was all trash…which is objectively false. No he wasn't Mahomes out the gate, but no has even been that.

people forget how incredibly young the kid is and was when he played his only yr in college (19).

maybe he will never be our guy, but we will never know until he actually gets to play meaningful football. Shocking for some (mainly the ones that loved Jimmy or hated the pick).

I find it hard to believe that the hatred is football related after just 4 games.

All Facts

This makes no sense. If this was true then they would hate majority of the team. Why can't it boil down to the type of playing style you prefer? If Trey Lance was on another team would the same posters view Lance like they do now or like say Paxton Lynch? Who himself only had 4 starts in 2 years and has only thrown 20 something odd passes more than Trey.

Not everything has to be about race. I'm willing to bet that the majority of us "haters" like some variation of Fields, Young and/or Stroud. While al ot of us "haters" likely view Anthony Richardson in the same lens as Trey.

Who said it was about race? There are many other reasons to not like someone on a personal level. But it goes to show what kind of person you are when that is the 1st thing that popped into your head after I made that statement.

That is FAAAAAARRRRR from the kind of person I am. But nice try chief. I just don't see any other explanation to explain the reasoning for your statement other than race.

Still defending a grown man like he's your 4 year old son.

Still hating a guy that hasn't played meaningful football for pride on your part?

I'm defending the chance for the kid to play football…that's all.

you're the one that said you weren't coming back in this thread…lasted all of 24hrs. For someone that can't stand Lance, you sure are obsessed with him.

Exactly. That is all you can think about.

I know you would. Running QB

and what "style" is Sam Darnold? He's not a straight drop back passer like you love. He's got over 50 starts of him playing f**king horrible football YET those same posters have the balls to say he should be starting day 1 because Lance this and Lance that.

bias horses**t in takes.

No one said you specifically…at least I didn't. You've made it known you like a drop back statue QB. You value drop back passing and heady play. Which is fine, what a lot of people have been telling you that those guys are becoming dinosaurs. They don't exist. The league & kids coming up are actually some the most athletic prospects. The QB position isn't designated for the Kurt Warner type of prospects anymore.

The goal was to have a QB that can move and play inside the pocket. you can learn to be a better in the pocket passer. You can't much better at all the rest.
We haven't even gotten a chance to let Lance have a chance there overall….100 sporadic passing attempts over 3 yrs? Come on dude, let's stop being bias naïve fans for two seconds.

everyone knew it was gonna be a process. If he doesn't play there's no process to be had. Period.

If Fields looked here the way he looks in Chicago you are correct. I would not be happy. Though I have a hard time believing he would here.

As for Darnold, i'm not one of those guys saying he should/could start. I do think he's the best 3rd stringer in the league. I also think Shanny can get Nick Mullen level of play out of him. Just hope it doesn't come with the same level of Nick Mullens of untimely turnovers. Unfortunately, I believe we will have to take the good with the bad.

I am willing to be that 50% of what you read is to get a reaction from guys like you. I don't think you understand how funny it is to read your posts defending the players you fall in love with. I will admit, I have thrown some grenades out literally just to see your reaction. I'm willing to bet i'm not the only one.

LOL don't blame me because every thread becomes a QB thread.

My thing before the 21 draft was this. We'll say we throw the ball 30 times a game. only 4 of those were "off-schedule" type plays. I wanted the QB who was the better player on the 26 "scheduled" plays instead of the guy better on the 4 "off-schedule" plays. That's how I looked at it.

You guys wanted a guy who can do both. I too wanted that guy. However, I didn't view Trey as being that guy. I still don't view him as the guy I'd want on those 26 on scheduled plays. With that said, watching Brock made me realize how important those 4 plays can actually be. I honestly understand that desire now after watching him. Though, I think it's obviously most effective when you have a guy who is also good on the regular stuff too.

I never said you were one of those guys regarding Sam. And making assumptions about what fields would or wouldn't be here is just that an assumption. He's a one read runner whose issue was throwing with anticipation and holding onto the ball too long. I was a fan and that's who I wanted. So far he hasn't really improved a ton there AND he's actually got to play football.

I could say the same about you. You do the same s**t with the guys you "fall in love with" so don't patronize me about that stuff. I call out stupidity, which there is a f**k ton of in here. We're all fans of the same team. I wouldn't talk to any of you if not for that…if people get off doing that type of s**t, well that tells you what kind of person they are. I think that's weird and pathetic.

as far as Lance goes he was never my guy. I understood the pick and was happy it was him (or fields). I said I wanted to see him play legit football before labeling him a horrible football player. Some of you refuse to let that even happen….for multiple reasons. Some not football related.

That's fair. It was also about having a QB that can use the whole field. That wasn't a Jimmy option. It was time to move on from him.

You can learn the scheduled stuff as you develop. It's not like couldn't do any of that. People in here act like there was zero from lance there which isn't true.

I've seen race suggested as the reason people are not fans of Trey. I thought that was absolutely ridiculous. If you remember me from the Kap/Alex days you would know that's not me
