If Trey were a monster runner and could put up 30+ a game without throwing that's fine too. I want QB that produces and wins. Not Kirk Cousins and his beautiful field reading. When you look at Treys overall production compared to Hirts and Allen in the beginning they were both better. Watching the film makes that even more clear

You should. That's what all the cool QBs that have long careers are doing.

That's what history tells us, but the game is changing and the top guys aren't just statues reading the D all game. It's definitely a trait you want, but if the guy that runs and can't read a defense is more productive then i don't care. The guy that runs around and can't read a defense is the better player in my mind.

Thank you for sharing. It's difficult for me to disagree more.

If he's more productive how is he not better? You want the guy producing and scoring more or the guy reading the defense?

Lol… at least you admit your bias.

For the record I never cared about air yards. I did care about the ability to attack all parts of the field, which I feel Purdy and Lance both have the ability to do so.

I don't hate Jimmy like you hate Lance. I felt that this team needed an upgrade over Jimmy to win it all. Because Kyle isn't perfect, the offensive line will never be perfect, and I liked the idea of having a cheap QB room which we're benefiting from currently (Javon Hargrave). Purdy showed last season what this offense it truly capable of and Lance has just as much raw ability but hasn't proved anything yet.

It's odd to me that some want Trey to fail so much since he's only 22 and his success could lead to a long term franchise QB or some trade compensation.

That's a key point. Even if Brock wins the starting gig Trey showing ability makes his trade value higher. We should be rooting for success for both.

Well the poster I'm responding to openly admits they would trade Trey immediately which is essentially saying they'd rather be proven right about Trey than do what's best for the team.

Cause you know… screw the dead cap and the fact that Trey has no trade value currently. Get him off the team because people were mean to Jimmy.
Here are the first 4 four games rushing.

Hurts- 9.5 YPA, 1 TD, 6 fumbles
Lance- 7.4 YPA, 0 TD's, 1 fumble.

So even adding in the rushing stats with the passing stats, Jalen was not out performing Trey in the first 4 games. Trey was better in some areas and Jalen was better in others. But overall they were nearly the same production wise.

I don't think you and I should discuss this any further. We simply have different criteria for what makes a good QB. Have a good one.

I guess that answers the question. You would take the QB that scores less because he meets the read the defense criteria. Have fun with that

Sums up the majority of the opposition to Trey.

How many times do we have to tell you stats do not tell how a player looked. There's film posted in here where Hurts looked more polished than Lance did against the Texans even though his stats were worse
If we could go back in time, knowing what we know now, even with the caveat that Trey would be injury-free, there is noway in hell we make that trade with the Dolphins. I am sure this is the sentiment of everyone here (from even 2 years ago). With this said I do hope that Trey plays lights out and beats Brock for QB1. If that happens - Wowza.

Dude you're full of s**t. I'm sorry but you are. You take away easy lance production BUT say you don't care how production happens for OTHER QBs.

Oh no, so with people saying he didn't do s**t during his Super Bowl in 2019 his 3900 yards passing with a 69% cmp% is credible then?? What was all that b******t about air yards??

Trey Lance was a project that wasn't worth the trade up for let alone three 1st round picks. I wasn't a fan from the start. The sooner they can move on from the injury prone project the sooner we can concentrate on one QB. Until then it's always gonna be a wait and see filled with a ton of exhausting excuses when things don't go right. You people already wanted Shanahan fired for running Trey up the middle. Josh Allen does the same s**t and isn't that who we drafted him to be?? No, then WTF did they draft him for???

So you want him to fail so you can be right. Got it.

Where did I say I want him to fail. Again with the twisted words. I just wanna see him traded. I love the positivity thinking that he'll start and nothing will go wrong for him, but is that the relaity of things??

You said production, did you not? Idgaf what your untrained eyes tell you. How many times do I have to tell fans on the WZ that.

Everyone has an opinion. Some choose to back it up with quantifiable evidence. Those who don't are the ones taken less seriously.

So you aren't a fan, don't think he was worth the trade up and want him traded but that doesn't mean you want him to fail?

Thats like saying your girlfriend is ugly, useless and you want her to break up wit you but where did I say I wont marry her one day.

Jimmy has far more stats that get overlooked or isn't credible because of who you guys portray him to be.

No need to portray anything. Jimmy got 8 years to prove his worth. Trey completed 3 games and you would "love to trade him".

OK so I want Trey Lance to fail and I hate Trey Lance. I could've sworn there was a difference between hate and criticism and I thought it made clear in the Jimmy thread. So I don't like the trade, didn't think he was worth the picks and don't wanna deal with excuses if he struggles or fails AND THAT'S HATE???

Got damn you people are contradicting yourselves.

You took that out of context but what ever I don't care lol
