Dallas Cowboys QB Trey Lance Thread

The writing is on the wall for Trey.

I'm noticing the organization putting out a lot of bad press about him. Everyone saying the same thing shows it's a marketing strategy. Same thing they did to Harbaugh and Kap.

Trey Lance didn't trade the 3 first round picks plus a 3rd round pick and select himself.

if he's not good, it just confirms that we do not know what we're doing at the quarterback position.

they spent a lot of time protecting Jimmy G in the media. Couldn't do anything wrong. Trey hasn't even played a full season yet.

Care to elaborate? I'm assuming you mean you're hearing the same types of comments from reporters etc?

Shanny was totally set to trade Jimmy and have Lance start last year with only Sudfeld/7th round QB as a backup, with a team that has SB goals.

He played 1 ridiculous monsoon game and then got hurt.

Why would anything have changed? Even if they think Purdy is the real deal, they're not gonna cut bait with Lance until they know for sure he is not the superstar they drafted.

I still think he is QB1 and is going to win ring 6, and maybe 7 and 8 with the Niners!!

I mean if Purdy wasn't hurt there's no doubt he'd have earned the starting job. Lance gets a shot to take it back, but if he doesn't play well, it's Purdy's job again when he's ready.

I think even if Trey Lance plays great, Kyle will give the starting job to Brock Purdy when he´s ready.

With the current timeline I agree, I think Trey needs at least 4 games to get in Kyle's mind that he's better (safer) than Brock, I think Brock gets back in time for week 1 if they push it.

I personally hope he gets 3-4 games, I think that can put it to bed, would have had a similar number of starts to Brock and we can make a much more informed decision on who is better for us.

He wont get a chance if Darnold convinces Shanny he is better in training camp and the pre-season. Darnold has much more experience that Lance. Now he has better coaching and better players around him then he did at the Jets and Panthers. You want competition? You might not get what you think from the competition.

I have told y'all how this thing shakes out. This job is Trey's all offseason to prep for week one. Darnold is the two until Brock gets back and he may stick as the two because he's being paid as such but I doubt it. Trey will have most likely by the bye week to establish himself. If he doesn't Brock takes over if healthy. Darnold won't see the field unless there's an injury because we're talking experience and no one has more of that under Kyle than Trey

Not to mention I expect us to add another QB during this draft cycle
