I don't give a f**k who's the starting QB as long as they're good. And I'm not talking about middle of the league starter. I want a guy that we can all agree is an elite level guy and the starter for years.

I get that…..but as an impartial fan reading all and who likes both QBs, it's happening on both sides

Some are rightfully down on a QB that has barely ever played and has not looked good.

The others are knocking a dude that was making history lol

You are one of the worst offenders on either side 🤣

I like both QBs as well. You and I both know who I'm debating with and who they like/dislike. It's A LOT of the same people that defended Jimmy for years regardless of what we saw. They just then pivot to Brock.

Im sure you'll find a post somewhere about Jimmy's cognitive processing skills all the same I hope at this point we know that wasn't his best skill set…but I'm sure that would be argued by them to.

I've blocked him but I'm sure I have an idea of what he said lol

Come on, people - let's all get along. We are a family.

Everyone who is a fan of the team should be excited to see Trey show something this offseason. Ideally he becomes the guy over Brock. He has all of the tools and traits that Purdy doesn't have, so I am hoping he becomes the long term guy and gets us to #6.

I agree that we should all be excited to see Trey show improvement, or at least more optimistic towards him, but I disagree on the whole tools thing. Trey may have a stronger arm or run faster but that's it. Those are also some of the least important traits towards being a top qb.

I do hope Trey can carry improved mechanics forward and have it make a difference in his play. It'll be fun to watch him and darnold duke it out.

Lance possesses tools that aren't attainable for guys like Brock. It's simply the truth of it.

What Brock does possess are things that Lance can learn to do. Those are learned traits at the QB position. Whether he can learn them is up to him.

that's what swoosh is saying and that's the difference in all of it…doesn't mean someone dislikes a certain QB or whatever.

I don't think it is that cut and dry.

Brock moves as well in the pocket and in short bursts but maybe not as fast after 10 yards and his arm is not as strong.

I am not sure vision and progressing through reads is all learnable.

We shall see.

Trey's main problem was accuracy, not processing. He is at least passable at it. I'd say he is a BETTER processor than Jimmy G, because Jmmy G doesn't process, he predetermins where he's throwing, but is clever enough to look off defenders.

That said Brock appears to be elite at it.

Trey might be great at it as well, we just haven't seen enougj due to unfortunate circumstances.
Hoping both our top QBs are upgrades to Jimmy in that area.

I don't see why there is a problem with being down a player that has no proof in his life of being a good QB. It's not the same as crapping on a dude that looked good

I don't see anything different lol. Clearly I don't know what I'm looking at. I thought the majority of his fine tuning had to do with his lower body? Also, I can't tell if both of these are the same type of throws (distance, arc of throw). I'm assuming comparing the throwing motion requires that the throws are of the same type. For example, a QB will load differently for a 30 yard throw as opposed to a 10 yard throw.

Same. I don't see anything marginally different, looks basically the same as before.

Here's a great article about the QB coach he's working with currently

Jeff Christensen has been coaching QBs for a really long time…his whole premise is footwork and timing (shocker). Some of the QBs I saw he's worked with are Mahomes, Jimmy G, tannehill, Kirk cousins…but I'm sure there's a bunch more.
IMO we can dissect his throwing motion to death. Overall it was never an issue. If you can tighten it up, that's a positive. It's gonna be all about his lower half though…no false steps, no heel clicking, knowing his drops and the depth of the routes. Being confident in his reads etc. that will make him more accurate.

ya hopefully his footwork improves as well

i think what is going to help trey the most is having cmc and a healthy kittle. people just gloss over the fact how much of an impact they have on our offense (when evaluating trey)

Shouting out who you have blocked or intend to block is kind of sad and pathetic.

CMC was such an underrated trade imo. I was against it because people complained about the run game (which there wasn't a problem) it was the pass catching skill set that I was all about. His ability to get open and be a safety valve for JG and Brock was the missing link. You're guaranteed 7+ yards every time throwing his way…it's a cheat code for this offense.

Man, I'm not gonna lie. Going to be crushed if the trade rumors end up being true. This guy never had a chance here.

Plan change weekly for SF. Especially at QB. Tossing all your eggs in one basket is one thing no fan should do imo. We will need all our QBs. There has been no reason to think we won't.

I know. And if Purdy ends up flopping, I am sure Kyle will be calling Captain Kirk in 2024.

Brutal.
