Dallas Cowboys QB Trey Lance Thread

My biggest reason for not trding Trey is that we haven't seen enough of him to make a real decision. I just don't want to see the Niners move on from him too soon and then have him go to another team and become the QB that they thought they were drafting.

There's another reason as well. People who want to see him traded are assuming that Purdy will be as good next season as he was in those last few games. We don't know at this point when he will be completely healthy. Most projections say somewhere near the beginning of the season but he could miss a couple of starts. That's assuming his recovery and rehab go well. Even then we don't know for sure that he's going to continue to led the team to win after win. He could come back down to earth and become the guy that every team passed on during the draft. He certainly wouldn't be the first QB that started off like a rocked and then fell back to earth once the league got a good look at his strengths and weaknesses. DCs are expert at exposing flaws in the opposition.

I hope he can continue to be the guy we saw last season but just like Trey, I don't think we've sen enough to make a final decision.

If Trey can improve on his accuracy, he would really become mult-dimentional in Kyle's offense.

QBs like Trey don't need to be in the 66-69% range. 62-65% is fine if you cn provide the running ability enough to gain 40-50 yard sper game and hit a couple of long passes. Accuracy may drop with trey but yards gained could rise.

I agree that he has to improve to at least 62%. Anything below 60% is unacceptable. It really dpends on the type of plays Kyle calls. If he continues to call the short game then that requires a higher completion percentage. If he uses Trey in the manner that many of us want to see then a lower % is acceptable.

If they are willing to move on from him so soon then I just have to trust their evaluation. Nobody assumes Brock will always be great, it's more an evaluation on Trey. Kyle and John would not let Trey go if they thought he had a good chance.

I hope Trey's heart isn't broken, if he has to move on.

I think he would be ok. He may actually go to a better situation for himself if he indeed does have to move on
Working out w/the Best QB in the league and his coach is very smart and should go a long way to his improvement.

Trading him isn't smart.

We have no idea how the injury will impact Brock and if he gets hurt again then we have a guy who knows the system and can step right in and play.

Lmao that's hilarious.

if he is moved, It has the possibility to be a better situation for him. I don't think he will be moved for quite some time though, if it happens at all. I'd imagine it would be before the trade deadline, when we actually know what we have at the qb position regarding Purdys health.

If he went to the Texans with DeMeco, that be perfect for him. He'd be very happy there.

He's made a few millions to soften the blow.
