Trey "heartbroken" if he has to move on:

Lmao that's hilarious.

if he is moved, It has the possibility to be a better situation for him. I don't think he will be moved for quite some time though, if it happens at all. I'd imagine it would be before the trade deadline, when we actually know what we have at the qb position regarding Purdys health.

Him and DeMeco at the Texans would be ideal for him. I think he'd be very happy there.

Zero reasons to move him unless it's for a stupid amount of compensation, which isn't gonna happen right now.

IMO if DeMeco wants him it means that he doesn't think he sucks like a lot of people do in here.
Saw another clip from his practice. Another clean pass on the money. It's on his Insta story.

DeMeco, I think, believes Trey can be an all-pro.

then why doesn't Kyle and Co believe that too? They all saw the same player and know him all the same.

if Ryans thinks he's a "all-pro" then we should as well…and there's absolutely no reason to move him.

Regardless of what anyone "believes" there's no logical reason to move Lance. None.

We got a QB with a small sample size and a shredding elbow rehabbing & another one that has been one of the worst starting QBs over the past 5 yrs…we've experienced a stupid amount of injuries at the position and this franchise has had just two QBs actually be the starter (and play the full season) in back to back years since 2000.

stop the nonsense.

Curious what it looks like sped up to normal timing.

Yeah the slow motion stuff can be annoying but whatever. FWIW here's Mahomes in slow motion at the same workout for reference

My biggest reason for not trding Trey is that we haven't seen enough of him to make a real decision. I just don't want to see the Niners move on from him too soon and then have him go to another team and become the QB that they thought they were drafting.

There's another reason as well. People who want to see him traded are assuming that Purdy will be as good next season as he was in those last few games. We don't know at this point when he will be completely healthy. Most projections say somewhere near the beginning of the season but he could miss a couple of starts. That's assuming his recovery and rehab go well. Even then we don't know for sure that he's going to continue to led the team to win after win. He could come back down to earth and become the guy that every team passed on during the draft. He certainly wouldn't be the first QB that started off like a rocked and then fell back to earth once the league got a good look at his strengths and weaknesses. DCs are expert at exposing flaws in the opposition.

I hope he can continue to be the guy we saw last season but just like Trey, I don't think we've sen enough to make a final decision.

If they are willing to move on from him so soon then I just have to trust their evaluation. Nobody assumes Brock will always be great, it's more an evaluation on Trey. Kyle and John would not let Trey go if they thought he had a good chance.

I haven't herd anything from the 49ers that Trey is going to be traded. That's just fan and media talk. I'm pretty sure that Kyle and John want to see some extended playing time before they make any decision.

They probably think, Trey can be an all-pro, but they think, Brock can be an all-pro, too.

Last offseason. Asked about trading Deebo.. Lynch: "I'd be a fool to trade Deebo."

Asked about trading Trey Lance.
Lynch: "We like Trey on our team right now," Lynch told local Bay Area media while at the NFL Annual Meeting. "We always joke, [coach] Kyle [Shanahan] and I, we'd trade each other if someone gave us a good enough deal. So we listen to everything, but we like Trey on our team and we are very excited about the way he is progressing about his opportunity.

Unnecessarily announcing Brock starter will absolutely and certainly result in someone calling and asking well then what do you want for the other guy. They didn't need to do that. Just saying we're going to let them compete would provide better motivation. The Only reason to do that is to solicit trade offers.

"We like Trey on our team right now"

"Trey needs to play and that's the biggest challenge"

How do people read these comments and think this team is still behind Trey?

My thoughts exactly

Easy to cite Purdy's injury then declare open competition. To say what I posted then take it a step further and include Darnold in the discussion....
