Zero reasons to move him unless it's for a stupid amount of compensation, which isn't gonna happen right now.

IMO if DeMeco wants him it means that he doesn't think he sucks like a lot of people do in here.

There's another reason as well. People who want to see him traded are assuming that Purdy will be as good next season as he was in those last few games. We don't know at this point when he will be completely healthy. Most projections say somewhere near the beginning of the season but he could miss a couple of starts. That's assuming his recovery and rehab go well. Even then we don't know for sure that he's going to continue to led the team to win after win. He could come back down to earth and become the guy that every team passed on during the draft. He certainly wouldn't be the first QB that started off like a rocked and then fell back to earth once the league got a good look at his strengths and weaknesses. DCs are expert at exposing flaws in the opposition.

I hope he can continue to be the guy we saw last season but just like Trey, I don't think we've sen enough to make a final decision.

If they are willing to move on from him so soon then I just have to trust their evaluation. Nobody assumes Brock will always be great, it's more an evaluation on Trey. Kyle and John would not let Trey go if they thought he had a good chance.

then why doesn't Kyle and Co believe that too? They all saw the same player and know him all the same.

if Ryans thinks he's a "all-pro" then we should as well…and there's absolutely no reason to move him.

Lynch: "We like Trey on our team right now," Lynch told local Bay Area media while at the NFL Annual Meeting. "We always joke, [coach] Kyle [Shanahan] and I, we'd trade each other if someone gave us a good enough deal. So we listen to everything, but we like Trey on our team and we are very excited about the way he is progressing about his opportunity.

Unnecessarily announcing Brock starter will absolutely and certainly result in someone calling and asking well then what do you want for the other guy. They didn't need to do that. Just saying we're going to let them compete would provide better motivation. The Only reason to do that is to solicit trade offers.
