How do people read these comments and think this team is still behind Trey?

How do you read it and see anything different? Trey needs playing time. Cool, just so happens the team needs a healthy QB. They like Trey on the team. Cool, the team likes having a healthy QB.

So get rid of an all-pro QB for pennies on the dollar? This team NEEDS QBs not more half ass draft picks…they got like 20 of those in the next two drafts.

I'm assuming Charlie is pushing some narrative (I can't see it)…best thing to do is just mute and move on. There's no reasonable conversation to be had. He's about as bias as they come…been that way since day one and Trey. You aren't gonna talk any common sense into him.

Like Trey on the team "right now"……..Right Now lmfao

Why throw that in there if he's seen as the future?

Those are the breaks, my friend.

As I posted earlier, prior to glass Jimmy landing in SF, the Niners had a 71 year history. In all that time, they needed to go to a third quarterback 8 times in a year. Recent bias makes us all want to have 3 quarterbacks, but that's not the odds. This team Clearly likes to go with two, with a third or more on the PS, and perhaps a vet that knows the system on the couch with a phone.

We've got three quarterbacks that can't go on the PS or the couch without them being pilfered. Why is that?

Yeah, ive mentioned that before. It's not a sustainable strategy to have 3 really solid QBs on the roster, especially on Gameday. Guys like darnold here won't want to sign here and be inactive on game day - development and pay reasons.
it would also make us sacrifice an active guy at another position of need on game day that we could really use.

so I think it's one of the three things:
- they don't expect Brock to be healthy week 1 and will trade someone later
- they plan on trading someone before the season stsrts
- the new emergency qb rule will allow us to have three without causing an issue (if passes - don't know the details though, will they get paid less for not being active etc).

DeMeco, I think, believes Trey can be an all-pro.

then why doesn't Kyle and Co believe that too? They all saw the same player and know him all the same.

if Ryans thinks he's a "all-pro" then we should as well…and there's absolutely no reason to move him.

Did demeco say that? Or is this speculation? I really don't know.

and even if someone thinks that, it doesn't mean we should all just fall in line with that belief. Someone gets drafted high meaning someone thinks that player has the ability but we see a ton of guys every year get drafted high and a majority of them fail to become even decent starters.

I believe I read a report that the Texans aren't looking to take a qb with their draft pick this year, so it's possible he wants him. That would be a great position for Trey because he could get the playing time he needs without the pressure of having to perform and worry of making a mistake etc. Also would be smart for us incase he does become a star, he will be in the AFC.

It's starting to look like most internet "facts" that people just want to mold to fit what they believe, and when nobody else sees it have to spend their time trying to convince everyone else.

Imagine the Chiefs saying that about Mahomes or Bengals about Burrow

Who said he was THE future? What Purdy did last year thrust him into the conversation. IF the 49ers really do like Lance and other than playing time and injury are happy with his progress then they find themselves in an enviable position in having two young players they like and feel good about. Why does this seem like such a problem for some 49ers fans?

I haven't read anything substantial saying they're not taking a QB at 2. Only thing I've seen is random draft talk because they need something to talk about at this point for clicks. It's not like they're passing on some elite blue chip talent to overdraft a QB imo. This draft stinks towards the top. I don't think Carter or Anderson are can't miss prospects.

There is nothing smart about trading Lance unless it means we land a legit pro-bowl vet QB or a massive haul of future picks. Neither are happening so it's stupid to move him at this point. Incredibly stupid imo.
