And then we have to pay several million to get someone as good or better than him. I'm sorry. It's not happening. It seems you're still in the denial stage, or maybe the bargaining stage. But you need to get through that and work through your grief at the fact that Trey is going to be on this team in 2023.

No was just correcting your misinformation of it being 11 million. You even quoted the guy who broke it down and still got it wrong.

I could give 2 s**ts if Trey is on the team or not. So long as Brock is QB1 when he's healthy.

Unless of course Trey magically becomes Charlie Bucket and busts through that glass ceiling

It's not misinformation. That's literally his cap number. It changes from 9 million to 11 million.

100 random passing attempts and 4 games = late to salvage his career lol…wtf kinda stupid take is that? Seriously dumb as hell.

we get it you don't like Lance.

I'm looking forward to him juking safeties like he did last year and then Jimmy stans saying he has no quickness because they're still bitter he was drafted with the aim of replacing Jimmy.

.

That tub of popcorn must have cost about $15. $25 if it's at a sports event.

49eraithful6's face when he sees Trey juke a safety after claiming he couldn't juke a linebacker? Priceless.

He'd be a great fullback.

He was top 5 or had our offense top 5 in damn near every statistic.

People clamoring for a top 5 QB. We had one play top 5 and people don't even realize.

Makes me think they only want top 5 QB in terms of physical attributes.

If the offense and Brock didn't play at an elite level during that stretch, then what the hell is. No losses (until he couldn't play), 33+ pts a game, top 5 in nearly all offensive catagories, no interceptions in the playoffs, better than 4-1 TD-INT ratio, set numerous rookie records. Lol

I really don't understand some folks. Purdy isn't elite because that requires consistency, but at least he's shown he can play at that level for at least 7-8 games. I want to see how far that goes before we go back to trying someone who's operated the offense at a 14 ppg average.

Its like these guys would see more potential in Fred Warner if he were part of the QB competition. I'll take the quarterback over the athlete

But they're quick to talk about how Purdy is probably a flash in the pan and since Lance has had a few nice throws, he has way more potential. Makes me feel like I'm in the twilight zone.

i sure as hell hope that Lance turns into mahommes but the rationale behind it all is wild af.

Actually now you're twisting it. You said the cap hit would be more than his numbers if he stayed on the team and they paid him. I showed you it's a very minimum hit and a plan to regain the cap space to cover the loss. Now if it were any other QB we were talking about, you would definitely agree with me and say "why haven't we done this already". lol

The only probably trading him before June 1st is the timing is wrong.

Also, the 9ers aren't gonna get what they paid to draft him, it never works that way.

I said it would cost them more to trade him than to keep him and you just said they would lose $1.55 Million in cap space. So even if it's not alot they still lose money. And considering they would be selling really low, What do the Niners have to gain by trading him? How in any way does it benefit the Niners?

Typically speaking the posters who say this are the ones who think Trey reaches his potential if given more reps and that SD is washed up.

Now let's say for sake of argument Kyle thinks he can get as much out of SD than he can TL. Then let's answer your questions.

If they think SD can provide the same thing they can get out of Trey then trading him could provide assets that would allow us to trade a backup (or even 3rd stringer given this scenario) for a pick that could become a starter. So that in and of itself is a gain. That in and of itself is a benefit.

We just don't know how Kyle feels about Trey and/or Sam. That is the key to the whole benefit/gain.

The posters who can see a path to a TREYde don't necessarily see Trey as some special talent. We don't see "special". The posters who think we have nothing to gain still hope for that potential. Both views are fine. It's essentially the same views everyone had prior to the draft. Ultimately, it comes down to how Kyle (and rest of the league really I guess) views Trey

I can't for the life of me understand what the 49ers front office is doing. They give up the farm for Lance and now want to give him away because they think a weak arm Brock Purdy is a franchise QB. We don't even know if Purdy can ever throw again. Give Lance a chance. I'm so sick of the QB drama in San Fran I could puke. How *ucking long has this been going on?

No, I think they want to give him away because he sucks. Purdy is their way out without looking like idiots.

Kyle is the same guy that passed on Patrick Mahomes and has a love affair with Kirk Cousins of all QB's. Sorry but I don't trust Kyle in what he thinks is a great QB. Kyle hasn't won a SB yet because he thinks these mid tier QB's are enough. He thinks his scheme can win him a SB and just needs a QB that can run it. Unfortunetely for us Niner fans he is wrong. We won't win a SB until we can get a QB that can go toe to toe with Patrick Mahomes. It doesn't matter how loaded the roster is. It's why I am willing to take my chances at hoping Trey is the guy because he has the physical traits. I think Purdy can be a pretty good QB but I am not sure we can win a SB with him.

Determining that a 22 year old sucks after 4 games is what will make them look like idiots. And putting all their faith in a QB that was drafted with the very last pick doesn't make them look much better.

Why does where someone was drafted matter? Brock looked like the real.deal. trey looked lost. I understand it's too early, but you don't keep someone just because of where they were drafted. See Josh Rosen.

That's what we need! A QB that can beat Jalen Hurts and beat Pat Mahomes. Jimmy G could run the system and win playoff games but we found out the hard way he couldn't beat Pat Mahomes. That's why we went for Trey and Purdy is good but I'd still develop both guys and right now Trey happens to be healthy. Only when we win it all will I be ready to declare the QB that dude

You keep them because they're 22 and cheap and you don't know what you have just yet
