Yup. Which is why I want him ON THE TEAM for camp. Lets see what he has. All 3 can either sink or swim.

He'll be on the team for camp, for sure. If he does get traded, it'll be sometime at the end of camp or before the trade line. It wouldn't be anytime soon.

i doubt he gets traded. Especially if he continues to improve.they definitely wouldn't trade him without knowing how Purdys recovery is going as well. That would be dumb. I don't see anything like that happening during the draft. Would be shocked

It always is. Am I wrong in thinking he'd look real classy with a fade?

He's gotta do something…s**t looks awful.

He said Eff haircuts. Grinding too hard. Hahah like how some guys grow beards in the playoffs until they win it all/lose.

I think the disagreement here lies in how people judge who will, or can, be an elite QB. It's how you view ceilings and floors of QBs and how you apply that to whatever player(s) are being talked about.

That said our situation at QB in the context of how our team is positioned is effectively unprecedented... and I think we believe we have a top QB on the roster (Purdy) until proven otherwise. Is he Mahomes, Allen, or Herbert in terms of talent... no. Does he need to be? No. Do guys like that come around often? No.

Someone has to be in their neighborhood of production if we wanna compete for a title IMO. I don't really care who that ends up being.

What I DONT want is if there is some sort of struggle this year and no QB has taken that next step is for Kyle to go for Cousins because we are win now mode. I just completely disagree with the concept of developing players only when you are bad. This roster is the perfect developmental situation for a young qb whether that is Lance, Purdy or Darnold. Keep at it until one of them hits. Don't settle for less just to try and gratify a season.

Disagree on this point. Our team is loaded. I don't think we need Mahomes, to win a SB, or that kind of production from the QB spot. Only a handful of teams have that QB. And we have beaten down Rodgers year after year, without that kind of elite QB. I mean Rodgers was winning NFL MVPs and we were shutting him down, ending his season.

I just think we need someone who can run the thing, hit open guys, not turn it over. Anything more than that, like BP last season, is a bonus.

Between his hairdo and your name, I've got all I need to laugh. Hahaha

I started losing my hair at 19 years old. I have no room to make fun of anyone's hair lol

I'm just laughing at the haircut, not judging the man over it. I do the same thing with my friends and myself, you have to be able to laugh at yourself.

we all have stuff about ourselves that aren't perfect and should be able to laugh at. Can't take life that serious. There is a difference between laughing at someone and laughing with them.

balding isn't something you can control. It would be ridiculous to judge someone over it.

He's a tall, athletic, wealthy man. Lol I'll trade my hairline for that combo. Lol Lance has nothing to be insecure about physically and if someone's judging him over balding, that's their problem, not his. That speaks volumes about the person making fun of it in a malicious way than it does Lance.

Once again a couple people take posts out of context…I said there was a couple other QBs that had good stenches of football that aren't regarded as elite level QBs at all. I COULD post a handful for really bad throws and decisions from Brock…but I'll be labeled a hater instead of adding context and dialogue to a discussion.

Brock good Lance bad. Saying anything else will not be tolerated. No nuance. No context.

FWIW I would love for either dude to become the man. I don't want another Jimmy G though. I don't want Kirk 2.0. I want a legit stud at QB. Maybe it's Brock maybe it's lance. I got a feeling we will see all three QBs playing this yr.

Which rookie QBs started their career with 7 starts like Brock?

Brock played at an elite level last year, he has played as an elite level as a professional.

Subconscious says a lot. Whoever called him baby Wilson is a moron. Hahah bet he doesn't want to be baby Wilson now, outside of cashing checks.

It was a former teammate of Wilson's that was in DC…I think McKissic. Some called him baby Farve as well. His teammates loved him. Propped him up all the same.

im not saying that's who Brock is. I'm pointing out there's been QBs that most wouldn't call elite QBs that played well for 7+ games. Where the play matters a ton. We will see with Brock.

Please list all of the QBs whose first 7 starts matched Brock's.

You'd have to first start by listing all of the teams that had as much talent as last year's team (coaching and players) which might already be a list with 0 peers.

No, I don't.
Literally every QB is in a unique situation.

Yup. Ring trying to reduce it to absurdity so as to not get an answer to the question.

Pretty sure Jed looks at that TL hairline and says, I see nothing wrong here. So Lance is good from a 49ers perspective.

How would you handle this situation?

No need to compare Brock to previous rookies. All you have to do to know that Brock did unusually outstanding is compare his output to JIMMY'S. Jimmy having a career year, with a QBR of 54.3. Brock 65.6. And this checks out with the massive points per game increase.* Jimmy had 16 TDs and 4 INTs in 11 games. Brock had 13 TDs and 3 INTs in 6 games, or 13 and 4 in 7 if you count the K.C. game. It's clear and obvious Brock was a superior QB, and he played excellently for a QB of ANY experience level.

.

*And that, by the way, is how you know QBR is superior to passer rating. Jimmy's passer rating was 103.0 last year; Brock's was 107.3, for a percent difference of 4.1, where as QBR the percent difference was 18.8. That huge change shown by QBR matches the huge change shown in points per game. QBR > passer rating.
