He could get another opportunity but it doesn't matter because he sucks right now. There's too much ground for him to make up in an offseason. If he does see the field I see him getting benched at some point. Whether he's just horrendous and Darnold needs to go in, or he's okay and Brock gets healthy, he's going back to the bench at some point

This is why nobody takes you seriously. Lance doesn't suck. You're in here pushing Darnold as a solid solution to start for us while Brock is out and he SUCKED. He's got games so awful it's embarrassing.

Trey Lance has never had a showing anywhere near those games and yet here you are claiming the kid sucks.

This is what's hilarious about you and others trying to act like Trey is awful and can't win. Darnold's last game was a win. He was 5/15 43 yards 0 TD 2 INT, 32 rushing yards and 2 fumbles(which weren't lost and one of them was the only TD the Panthers scored as Darnold fumbled running into the endzone and his lineman recovered it). Panthers won by scoring 10 points while playing in a dome.

That game makes Darnold a winner in your book.

Trey goes 13/28 164 yards 0 TD 1 INT 54 rushing yards and 1 fumble in lost - while playing in awful field/rain conditions.
49ers lose by scoring 10 points.

That game makes Trey a loser in your book and he sucks.

...and that makes sense to you?

I don't think Darnold is anything special, he's just a better option than Trey until Trey proves otherwise. Sam has gotten endorsements from Gore, Brian Baldinger, and others who feel the same. We don't think Sam is good, it's just that we aren't going to say Trey is better when he's never shown it in middle school, HS, college or NFL.

Sam has been a busy his entire career. Name one think he's proven.

Not much, but he has proven he's better than Trey Lance. Trey needs to show me, I can't just say he's better when I've never seen it. Whatever glimmer of hope you see in Trey, Sam has shown it and more in much tougher situations. I get that there's bad play too, but there is also better play than Trey at every level

Is it his 59% completion percentage that puts him with Zack Wilson?

No but it's better than Treys, so yea I guess that's a statistic we could point to if you wanted

Is it this? Him seeing ghost. Has Trey seen ghost?

Trey has yet to show people like Brian Baldinger he is better than a QB that sees ghosts. They must not think Trey is any good
Yeah... Didn't think so.

He's gotten endorsements? That means what?

What were these endorsements? Baldinger saying it wouldn't surprise me to see him starting week 1? Wow let's get Darnold's HOF bust ready now. With such conviction behind him surely he's guaranteed to be the starter.

Frank Gore talking about his former teammate saying he'll surprise you. WOW! Patrick Mahomes is lucky he didn't go to KC instead.

We all know Darnold is a talented guy. It's why he went 3rd overall. He's had some good games and he's had some wow plays. However his propensity for turnovers is an absolute disaster and there is no guarantee having Shanahan as a HC and the talent we have will turn him into someone who takes care of the football much better.

And despite Lance's inexperience he's done a better job of taking care of the football. His 3 interceptions were young player type interceptions and can be easily managed and eliminated. That is why he gives them a better chance to win.

Here's Baldy saying Trey played decent and that it stupid to judge a player in a rain game. Funny how that doesn't matter.

I guess not since Baldy admitted Trey was bad in that game in his latest tweet and thinks Darnold will beat him out

Lol I never thought I'd see the day where we officially have career bust Sam. Darnold Stans .

I just can't

9ers seem serious about DTR, meeting with him 3 times now... DTR won't be practice squad safe so he will likely make the 53

this is bad mojo for Lance, since they already signed Darnold and were jubilant about it...

appears TL is the odd man out now and a Treyde will be in the works

Guaranteed Lance sticks on this roster longer than Darnold does.

We've kept 3 QB's on the roster before maybe we'll do it again.

Many people think Darnold has more experience than Trey. And he does. It doesn't mean he's better.

People projecting improvement just cuz he's going to a good team. Maybe it happens, maybe his faults are not correctable that quickly. We'll see. I'd bank on Trey taking the next step more than Darnold suddenly becoming careful with the football.

His actual words were "if he gets a legit shot, I wouldn't be surprised he will start week 1"

That's not the same thing as "I'm telling you he's going to start"

Yes Trey has to prove himself. So does Darnold. Trey has the leg up considering he's been in this offense and on this roster. 49ers should want Trey to work out a lot more than Darnold who is on a 1 year deal.

Will be hilarious when Lance requests a trade, Purdy is not ready and you have to start Darnold.

Only way I see him requesting a trade is if he actually loses out to Sam Darnold. That in and of itself would indeed be hilarious.

that actually might be the best scenario. but i doubt it would happen
