So how great is the QB room really? If we quit living off of Trey's ceiling that is unlikely to ever be reached, is this QB room really that strong? Fans from other teams don't view Trey or Sam the same way this board does.
*DISCLAIMER* Not saying Trey is a bust. I'm just saying it I'd unlikely he reaches the pinnacle that alot of you seek. He could end up being a good starter.....somewhere. it's just unlikely he reaches that top 5 QB status that many envision. IMO
It's a question mark at best and possibly the weakest link on the team.
If Purdy returns and plays at the level we saw last year, we're on pretty good ground. Between Trey and Sam you would hope to emerge with a very solid backup at minimum.
If Purdy has a setback or his play regresses, we could be in big trouble at the position. We'd be dependent on *fast* growth from one of the other two, and that isn't assured.
