Yeah, their just fielding calls, but there is interest, which is surprising that there's interest 8 days before, this draft.

But but but I thought Lance sucked? Why would teams be calling about him if they think he stinks? Hmmmmm MAYBE because he doesn't suck like ya'll think. Our fan base is one of the most impatient bunch of babies I've ever been around.

Who says he sucks? The concensus around the league, is that he's a talent, and just needs a new home.

I think he sucks. Lol I also think he's a game manager. Not elite. Only thing about him that's talented are his physical traits

i still don't know if trading him is the right move tho

He can't be everything.

All of those things can be true. He currently sucks, his ceiling is a game manager, but he could become better then suck that he currently is - which would be helpful if Purdy isn't healthy in time

Why do you keep saying he sucks? He. sucks at getting hurt. Plus, Darnold is ready to go if Dirty isn't ready yet.

Cause I thought he was awful when he played. Very underwhelming. Even in camp he had a ton of rough reports. I mean if he looked as bad as he did in his starts with this top roster and coaching around him, how will he look in a crap or mediocre team

i hope the guy gets better and I'm sure he will, I'm just not sold on him being some superstar talent that some think. He's just physically awesome.

i always thought it was a terrible draft pick.

Under whelmeing? He played in a blisered in Chicago, then got hurt.

It's as simple as this Mayo - Justin Fields (same draft) was able to beat our far far superior roster with worse coaching in the same weather.

trey had over 3 quarters before the rain started coming down hard. He managed 3 points. - coincidently that's what he has done in all three of his starts. 3 points until the third/4th quarter. You aren't winning Jack s**t in this league doing that unless you're playing the horrible Texans (4-13) and they can be shut out

idk what you saw in the Arizona, Texans, or Bears game that makes you think he is good. He would be the worst ranked QBs in the league at that rate. The bears went on to be the worst team in the league, btw.

What's the point of being big, fast, and have a strong arm if you can't beat a crap team in the rain? Stop making excuses for his poor play and just admit it was very poor play. When he wasn't the starter, we become a championship contender.

So, Fields had a better day. Doesn't mean, if Trey didn't get hurt, that he wouldn't have been just as good.

Right but it still means he was underwhelming and sucked. When you're on a championship caliber team littered with pro bowl and all pro, as well as top notch coaching, only way you lose to the worst team in the league is by sucking. And he royally sucked that game.

which his amazing physical traits are supposed to make rough weather mitigated.

Can't win them all, even Joe had bad games.

Premature to say he sucks, after just 4 games, tankle.

It's two years of underwhelming camp reports and practice reports and 3 full games of awful play.

i don't have anything against the kid personally, just don't think he's the qb for us. If he is traded, I'll root for him on another team to succeed.

same way I did with Alex smith, wanted him gone, but didn't want him to fail.

Camp and practice reports, suck. The only legitimate report, was that he was struggling with accuracy and was having arm velosity issue.

Designating it post June doesn't make any sense because you're just kicking the can down the road. In addition to his 5.5 mil dead cap next year. We almost assuredly would have to eat at the very least some of Darnold's incentive money next year as well. So we'd have dead money next year on 2 QBs.

We should just eat the 2 mil net loss this year be off the books of Trey next year and only dead money would be Sam's incentives. Assuming he'd starts the season with Trey gone.

I don't feel the same way regarding practice/camp reports - yes, they're not end all be all, but if someone is a stud, you'd expect to hear consistent chatter about how amazing this kid is.

if Lance sticks around and ends up starting games for us, you can bet your bottom dollar I'll root for him and want him to do good. I just never thought he was a good draft choice and I feel like everythin I've heard and read about him have changed my feeling on it.

Time will tell. If I'm wrong, I'll eat my crow.

I remember you bringing this up before. Only reason I can see is doing post June 1 is because of the quality of draft picks this year and our lack of cap space.

May not be a June 1 though. I'm assuming that would depend on the package offered for him. I do think a team like the falcons or so would offer a conditional second for him that could be a first rounder depending on his play.

We will have cap space by this time next week. There will be restructuring happening over the next week.

I thought if was a safe pick. He just hasn't showed his potential yet, because of lack of experience and injury issues, that has dwarted his develpment.

Safe pick?
Vikings get: QB Trey Lance, 3-102, 6-216 (from SF), 2-63 (from PHI)
49ers get: 1-21, QB Nick Mullens (from MIN)
Eagles get: 3-99, 3-101 (from SF), 2025 fourth-round pick (from MIN)

ESPN mock trade

Maybe, the wrong word. A good pick.
