In exchange for Cousins according to Florio.

Hahaha and they would give Kirk an extension. Only way to make the cap work. Brock would be back to the butt bench and fans would be f**king livid.

I for sure would.

What? Extend him to be the backup? He won't re-sign to be the backup, he wants to be a starter.

The source doesn't know whether that's currently happening. The Vikings have since restructured the Cousins contract. They'd take a significant cap hit ($38 million) if the Vikings trade Cousins before June 1.

Well if SF wants KC it will have to wait another 6 weeks.
All this talk of Cousins isn't looking at it from the Vikings perspective.. they won 13 games last season

Why would they trade out their QB1? Who would they start at QB? Trey? Mullens? That is not in their own self interest. They want a prospect to pair with Cousins, so that they can move on from Cousins in 2024. They may not be able to land a top guy in round 1, they may be gone by that time. They want Cousins and TL. Not Cousins for TL, would be my guess. I don't think he's available.

Would be a dumb move. Cant see it happening.

Florio (whose favourite team is the Vikings) is always connecting Cousins back to the 49ers since Shanahan became 49ers head coach. It never stops. Every single offseason.

Exactly we all know history will repeat itself and Rodgers will be the Vikings starting QB in 2 years

It's true, though. Kyle loves, Cousins, but doesn't make sense, now with Dirty being the franchise starter.

I know their record looked good but they aren't really close tbh. I think they know this and are ready to start rebuilding rather than dragging current situatio out for no reason. I know you guys hate it but a QB room with KC and Brock would be awesome. THAT is a good QB room. Kyle will play whoever gives us the best chance to win

Agreed. Lance I think will prove to be a lot better than people think. That said, sure, he'd have to do an awful lot to unseat Brock. But IMO we can get a lot more from him next off-season if he gets a real chance to play and win some games.

Darnold isn't a starter. Believe me, I've watched enough of him to know that it wasn't just his situation. He simply didn't take care of the ball. Shanahan hates when guys "do something stupid" (in his own words), and I think he'd be incredibly unhappy with Sam if he had to start too many games. Lance not only has better upside and mobility, he's smarter with the football, despite his inexperience.

For Sam.. Look at how many of these horrific throws were where he wasn't even under pressure.

I want no part of him taking snaps as a starter outside of being an emergency #3. Despite the contract he got, I don't even think he's necessarily a lock to make the roster.

Sam blows…how many chances does this dude get? Lance gets 30 passing attempts as the starter and we're suppose to just say that's enough lol? WTF. A player they had so much conviction in that they made the biggest trade in franchise history?

someone should get fired for that s**t. If you're incapable of developing a QB, then you should have never drafted one. Plain and simple. Brock doesn't cover anything…that was pure luck and no one has a damn clue if he's the real deal long-term. All we know as of right now is he dealing with a massive throwing arm injury and got hurt multiple times in 7 games. We have no idea when he will play or if he can maintain what he did previously.

if this does happen and they just give Brock the keys, then I will have lost some respect for kyle and co.

Brock was great, but his future is still unknown. Kyle knows what Kirk is. He loves the guy and there's no way he doesn't think he'd lock a SB in with Kirk

I don't think they see Rodgers leave the div and say welp it's time to rebuild after 13 wins.. just doesn't make sense to me.
