Andy Dalton with a weaker arm, poor attitude and a prevalence to injure opponents.

No one wants to trade for that.

Thats not it at all. He's just using skepticism as a coping mechanism. Trey's quarter and a half versus Hou is enough for some to hang their hats on what Trey could be. Yet Brocks 8 game stretch is met with skepticism.

Some people would rather be right than see their team succeed.

That pretty clearly defines anyone that would trade Lance for whatever they could get right now. It's no surprise that those pushing that the hardest are those that have made it clear that they have had a personal distaste for Lance since we drafted him, if not before.

We'll get something for Trey, just not what we gave up to get him. I don't think, distaste is the right word, Ring. Maybe, unfulfilled potential, leading to natural skepticism.

That so called Pro Bowl QB has 36 TD passes and 24 INT's in his 1st 2 years. He only made the pro bowl because like 5 QB's had to bow out.
I'd much rather us move on from a highly drafted player that we don't have confidence in anymore then try and make it work for 6 years like Alex smith.

the debate shouldn't be "can Lance be a functional solid qb". I think it should be "does the team believe Lance can become a top 5 Qb in the nfl".

i vote no and seems like the team decision makers have too. No one is saying he won't improve, but improve to a superstar? Based on what? His amazing physical traits that couldn't function in rain against the worst team in the nfl? Hell yeah! Gimme some more of that!

My son lol? Nah. It's organizational malpractice to move off a guy you're so convinced is the dude that you made the largest trade in franchise history. Simply the truth of the matter. Now your son McCorkle? I can see NE moving off his punk ass.

Not really. They found someone they like better based off actual results. They liked him enough not to place him on the PS. They saw both at practice and camp. They even had a longer time to evaluate Lance in 2 training camps and 2 off seasons.

It would be malpractice to go with the guy they traded up for even if they feel the other guy is better.

Or maybe Kyle just has no idea how to develop QB's. I think if we had traded up to #1 and took Lawrence he would be in the same position Trey is right now. Same goes for Fields.

I love the opinions on here. Keep the convo going, gang.
I swear, if Shanahan trades Lance for Kirk Cousins I'm going to lose it…

Not really. Lawrence was way more polished and actually played a lot

Yeah, bad idea. We need a backup Qb or starting position players, not a Qb that perfers not to be a backup.

The guy passed on Patrick Mahomes because he thought he was getting mediocre Kirk Cousins. That says it all.

Yet, the ones pushing to trade Jimmy last offseason just si happens to be the ones that had a hard on for Lance since before he was drafted.

Was wanting Jimmy traded last year the best interest of the team or best interest for Trey?

Everyone, in the top 10, passed on Mahomes. He's not alone. Everyone, passed on Purdy, too. So, he's not the only dumb s**t.
