If you can't clearly separate from Sam Darnold then you are officially a career back up. some dude i never heard of in Carolina came off the bench and out played Darnold.

I thought good QB's elevate WR's? If they are pro bowl calibre QB's shouldn't they be the ones making WR's look good?

Lol he made it to the pro bowl in spite of them. Partly why he was top100 player

Mitchell Trubisky was in the pro bowl. But I do agree with you that Mac Jones would look much better here with this cast of players and coaches.

That's one of my biggest issues with Lance. He played like complete crap with a stacked roster and coaching staff.

imagine him on that bears team or patriots? Lol it would be insanely embarrassing.

comparing lances situation to macs or fields is just idiotic.

the debate shouldn't be "can Lance be a functional solid qb". I think it should be "does the team believe Lance can become a top 5 Qb in the nfl".

i vote no and seems like the team decision makers have too. No one is saying he won't improve, but improve to a superstar? Based on what? His amazing physical traits that couldn't function in rain against the worst team in the nfl? Hell yeah! Gimme some more of that!

Imagine judging a QB in 1 game.

But even if you analysis is correct, why move on at this point? If Purdy is the starter what is the harm in keeping Lance as the backup? I mean its not unheard of keeping a QB on the bench for a few years.

Imagine thinking he's only played one game

Exactly. I think it's funny people are calling Zach Wilson a bust but Zach Wilson has won 8 NFL games with a much worse supporting cast. What has Trey done besides go 1-3 and look absolutely putrid in the process with a stout defense and running game. It's like every other throw or scramble was a head scratcher when you look at how wide open receivers were. You absolutely cannot expect to come out of North Dakota Stare and expect to light up the NFL when you have had less throwing attempts your entire life than Tom Brady had in one year. It's silly to think that way. Purdy played P5 ball at Iowa State and needed no special treatment to ball out

That's not fair to Trey. He might have played like crap, but he still has time to make up for it. He's really talented and just needs a new home to play and show he can play. He has untapped potential and someone is going to be very fortunate to get him.

Thats not it at all. He's just using skepticism as a coping mechanism. Trey's quarter and a half versus Hou is enough for some to hang their hats on what Trey could be. Yet Brocks 8 game stretch is met with skepticism.

Some people would rather be right than see their team succeed.

NY, has been accused of that. But, he like everyone else just want whats best for the team.

Nah, I don't buy that for a second.

He loves to be right and rub it in the face of anyone who's ever disagreed with him.

He's just trying to show his dominance in his knowledge. We all can be accused of that at times. I like, NY he has a different take on things, which is refreshing. Plus, he's from NY, so he good in my book.

I'm one of the biggest anti Trey guys BUT he never played like complete crap. He hasn't shown to be anything special either but he hasn't been complete crap

This stacked roster and coaching staff was just 3-4 before the CMC trade turned things around last year (2-3 with Jimmy as the starter).

Bro, you are only allowed to count the 2nd half of the HOU game. Nothing else counts

Exactly my point though.. Had not been for the " Long Haired Wonder Lawrence ", Trey may have been the 1st overall pick.. Bottom line is he was only a very good QB even when he went undefeated at NDST..

and the way Shanny set up his first TD pass made every SHANANIGANS a believer..

Shanny knew he wasn't ready, but he had to play him..
