Trade Aiyuk, Trey, two of our 3rd rounders and next years 3rd to Texans for their 12 and 33.

If we trade BA this year instead of trading Deebo last year

Right. Completely idiotic.

What savings? We save like $100k.

Also, there is NO CHANCE, zero, that purdy is ready week 1.... People are delusional about that.

Anyways no reason to trade lance unless someone knocks our socks off with an offer

lol "highest ranked QB" What a subjective term. I'd being willing to bet not a single team would give up a 1st rd pick for him right now.

Uh, seriously? You don't think a team would give up a first round pick to the player who has arguably had the best first 8 games to start a rookie QBs career? Knowing what we know now, he'd be a top 5 pick, and likely the top pick if it weren't for some mild questions on his elbow.

This is akin to saying not a single team would give up a first round pick for Burrow after his first year. Not grounded in reality.

I don't think people are delusional about Purdy's availability. I think it's more along the lines of there isn't as big a drop off if at all from Trey to Sam as many want to believe.

Trading/keeping Trey shouldn't be about just the 1st 4 or so weeks of the season.

Michael Silver on TL value, not sure if ppl picked up on this I didn't:

Longtime NFL reporter Mike Silver, who also writes for the San Francisco Chronicle reported the following on Lance's market in January.

"Even if the Niners are receptive to potential trade offers for Lance after the season, they won't come close to recouping that haul. Based on my conversations with several teams' general managers (and other high- ranking front-office executives), Lance would be unlikely to net much more than a third- round selection, though it's possible there's a team out there motivated to give more."

All the more reason it would be idiotic to trade him. We LOSE cap space AND we get low value picks, and we still need to pay to replace him.

I'm not advocating to trade him but We don't lose cap space if we do a post June first trade. Outside of what we already guaranteed him. It would actually give us $5.1M this year, which is oddly the exact cap hit for darnold. Lol

technically, we could trade him during the draft and it not kick in until post June, meaning we wouldn't get draft capital to use this draft. Could get a player though

Yes that's true. But we lose any draft compensation for this season.

If we trade him it will either be for much more than any one here thinks he's worth (because the 49ers won't take the cap hit unless we get a great return), OR it will be after June 1st, and probably just before the pre-season, so they get a chance to see what both he and Darnold can do, as well as clarity on Purdy's injury.

Darnold has thrown 55 picks in 56 career games and has fumbled 35 times(losing 13 of them). Even with Trey being raw I trust him to protect the football more than Darnold. Darnold can single handely cost you games.

I don't actually and I don't think he would be a top 5 pick. Again that's my opinion.

people would give up a 1st for Burrow because I'll bet most had them as there #1 overall prospect on their big board. That s**t matters. They do years worth of scouting on all of them…6 games in the NFL doesn't automatically make them the best QB in a draft or change a GMs total perspective on a prospect.

unlike fans they aren't gonna be so easily swayed off a small sample size and look at the overall picture. Toss in what that team has for a roster. You better have a shanahan level play caller and a Super Bowl roster if you're gonna bring in Brock.

And yet our head coach has him taking 1st team reps and competing with Trey. So if he thought Trey was head and shoulders above Sam he wouldn't ahve them sharing 1st team reps. He had no problem announcing QB1. If he had faith that Trey was that much better than Sam then he shouldn't have had a problem with naming him QB2.
