Brock can not be another Jimmy G or just a little bit better because that won't beat Mahomes. Brock has to be good enough to beat Mahomes. Maybe he is and maybe he isn't. Maybe Trey is and maybe he isn't. We just need HIM.

Agreed and it's not even just beat Mahomes. It's all those damn QBs in the AFC. Toss in Hurts now.

going to NFCC games are sweet. They're not the goal anymore though. We've lost a SB and two NFCC's because of QB play for the most part.

If Jimmy didn't get the ACL and because of it, lost his mobility and was the player we got those few last games in I forget what year, but right after we got him, when he was dynamic, it think it was '17, if we had that Jimmy we win the Super Bowl against the Chiefs. But, what we got was a diminished Jimmy, good accuracy and lightning quick release, like no one before, but mistake prone, throwing picks at the worst time. What could have been, he would probably still be our starter and there is no need to draft Trey at #3.

But not just any QB is gonna beat Pat Mahomes

He lost to the Colts. Malik Willis took him to OT. You are out of your mind if you think the top offense and defense (which was us with Brock) could not beat the Chiefs

They got the ring and we didn't. We ain't beat Pat Mahomes yet and they smoked us in Levi's just this past season. There is nothing to say we were gonna beat KC when we couldn't even protect our 3rd and 4th string QBs vs PHI. PHI had the 2nd best defense and got 40 pts hung on them so that tells me we were gonna be in a track meet vs Mahomes and we have to be sure we have that guy to beat that guy. That is what I was wanted to see if Purdy could do at season's end. He didn't due to injury so now we are back at the drawing board waiting on him to become whole again, waiting on Trey to develop and Darnold to surprise us

Can't beat Mahomes with #1 offense and #1 defense. You guys might as well go be Chiefs fans lol

That was a 4th down play that took it from the 50 to inside the 20. Smart dude. Brock has the headwork to know when to take chances that Jimmy G could never dream of.

Clearly he doesn't have Trey Lance arm strength. But then you won't see Purdy under throw a wide open streak due to poor timing.

But really that play was a failure more because of Purdy failing to see the defender.

No, that just shows how important having an elite QB is. Elite QB > everything else.

I don't even think it's Mahomes is in a league of his own. Allen is a fixing unit. He needs more than Diggs and like Brock f**ked up his UCL late last yr. As long as he's on that team they will always be in discussions. Same with Burrow. I think Herbert is a totally stud as well, the coaching staff stinks over there and they can't catch a break with injuries. God can you imagine Herbert in SF

with any luck he would have us playing as well as BP did
I would challenge your thesis NY, that you have to be top of the draft to put the ball downfield. TB12, Warner could do it, Warner put one downfield in the SB to win the SB, had 400+ yds in the SB, he was undrafted. BP can build that arm over the years, I have seen em do it. TL can already put it downfield, can he put it where he wants it?

Never said it's not important. You're saying we would never ever in a million years beat Mahomes when we had the best offense and defense with Brock lol

Da f**k you talking about? It was 1st and 10 lol. Held onto the ball too long and didn't have the arm to throw it to where it should have gone.

Kyle held Jimmy G responsible, which caused him to stop playing loose. Jimmy played loose those first 5 games, and then not again until last season when he didn't care what Kyle thought anymore. He just couldn't find the sweet spot of playing loose but still not making the wtf plays.

Jimmy wasn't the same player we got that fall of '17. He was dynamic, don't you remember, how he'd be flushed out the pocket and make incredible throws in the end zone or down the field? We all were saying, holy s**t, we got this guy? If he was that player, we beat Mahomes and he's still our starter now. He ended up relying on the pass protection, it was get rid of the ball or get sacked. Kyle was stuck just having to design quick slant passes, because longer developing plays just took too much time. He ended up throwing bad interceptions at the wrong moment, hence, what happened in the Super Bowl against the Chiefs. That's all I'm saying. What we ended up with, was damaged goods, as far as his mobility. He became a one dimensional player. Just my two cents on Jimmy and how his game got changed from that guy we saw in '17. You don't agree he ended up being a different guy?

I mean I wouldn't call it wide open…but Kittle had him beat for an easy TD

This throw is short. Bad footwork, looked like Jimmy on that play

There's by far more good than bad..but there is some questionable stuff over just 170 passes.

OK, wrong game then. But that was 34 yards in the air, and we just saw on the previous clip he threw 44 air yards, so it wasn't arms strength.
