Lol I understand play calling matters. An hour or so ago I wasn't sure you did because you made it seem like Brock needed a great play caller as if players like Josh or Herbert doesn't.
The fact that our play caller does scheme WRs open furthers my point that he doesn't need all stars around him. His coach will get them open. Now I'm not saying Brock could go to battle with the likes of Jakobi Myers or Kendrick Bourne but he doesn't need all stars with Kyle. At least not a team full of them
I'm saying Brock currently has an amazing play caller while the others don't and they're still putting up insane numbers and are the main reason they win games…we were winning games with Jimmy before he got hurt all the same.
Why can't we win games with Trey Lance?
We had major injuries in the Cardinal game. The Bears game he wasn't the only one who played poorly. Deebo doesn't fumble, we win. The Seahawks game we were driving. In short, it's (site decorum) to say, "We can't win with Lance" as there hasn't been a reasonable sample size to know.
In the two losses Lance has been our leading rusher. Both games were filled with bad penalties in key moments of the game as well that had nothing to do with Trey.
Just because he didn't go out there and play perfect in those games doesn't mean he hurt the team to the point they lost the game. Yes there were mistakes but when the whole narrative is "he just can't lose the game for them and the rest of the team will put him on their back" and the rest of the team has off days then it shouldn't go back to the kid for blame.
Yet here we are and a lot seem to have forgotten or overlooked what he did in the games we lost. But at the same time we have people downplaying the Houston win because the defense played well and Trey didn't play a perfect game from start to finish.
This is when you know people are irrational on the kid.
