They're local beat writers who's main audience is 49ers fans. The team is going to feed them different information than they would national reporters.

Of Purdy's 4 interceptions, the Dolphins one was 4th and 4 from the Dolphins 39, Brock was getting creamed by a blitz, it was contested, picked and tackled down at the 21, for a gain of 18 yards vs an incomplete. That's a positive outcome. The one against the Commanders was on Jennings hip, which he flipped up in the air. The ones against the Chiefs and Raiders were bad passes.

If you look at earned negative pics, that's 2 in 8 games, which would extrapolate to 4 in a season. Not bad, rook.

Not gonna happen. He won't be traded until the coaches know one way or the other what they have in Trey. They invested a lot of time and energy evaluating the kid and they won't throw that out with the trash unless they are sure that he's not what they were hoping he would be. Injuries have delayed that evaluation and until they believe one way or the other that the kid is or isn't who what they thought he was, he stays. Plus, after last seasons debacle with the QB roster, playing a fourth string QB in the Championship game, I'm not sure the coaches are excited to leave the cupboard as empty as a trade would leave them.
