That's a positive outcome. The one against the Commanders was on Jennings hip, which he flipped up in the air. The ones against the Chiefs and Raiders were bad passes.

If you look at earned negative pics, that's 2 in 8 games, which would extrapolate to 4 in a season. Not bad, rook.

Not too bad at all. Extremely good awareness for a rookie.

If you watch the other 7th round rookies, or just rookies in general, It was amazing what Brock did. Hopefully he can improve upon it and keep it going.

hopefully, if Lance is here, he has a large improvement too and pushes Purdy as well. If Lance can do that, that'll be an awesome QB room. I feel like right now there is just a large Gap in quality qb play between Brock & Lance/Darnold for them to really force any hard convos.

the scary part is that Lance & Purdy have small samples. So it's difficult to predict which one is the right one. Short term, I think it's easy, long term is the tricky one. I personally would go with Purdy but if Lance can get 20-25 games under his belt (which essentially doubles his game experience through his life) - he could show something he hasn't.

What's your point? They're the ones actually talking to the powers to be in SF. Both Matt's confirmed that teams called (like Rapp said) they also said they're not trying to trade him. Same s**t with BA.

Here's another national news breaker in Albright

Speaking of Brock Purdy, his San Francisco 49ers teammate Trey Lance has been the subject of much speculation this week. According to a source I spoke with, the 49ers are not actively shopping Lance. "But you always listen to these types of calls," the source said.

just because you want it to be a thing, doesn't make it a thing.

I want Trey traded this draft to spice things up. But, it's wishful thinking it happens this year.

Not gonna happen. He won't be traded until the coaches know one way or the other what they have in Trey. They invested a lot of time and energy evaluating the kid and they won't throw that out with the trash unless they are sure that he's not what they were hoping he would be. Injuries have delayed that evaluation and until they believe one way or the other that the kid is or isn't who what they thought he was, he stays. Plus, after last seasons debacle with the QB roster, playing a fourth string QB in the Championship game, I'm not sure the coaches are excited to leave the cupboard as empty as a trade would leave them.

yeah

Maybe they already believe he isn't who they thought he was, and trading Lance doesn't leave the cupboard empty its not as if it's Lance or nothing.

Just imagine trading him, only to find out in a year or 2 that he's everything Kyle envisioned and more, meanwhile Purdy comes back to Earth. Probably best to get at least 1 full season AND postseason out of at least one of them before committing.

If they've already decided who Purdy or Lance is based off less than a full season between the two, then none of them are who I want picking the long term solution at QB.

Lance has been here for two offseasons plenty to be learned from that time.

Even if they believe that, It doesn't mean they are right. I don't have much faith in Kyle when it comes to the QB position considering the guys he has crushes on. He thinks Kirk Cousins is the best QB in the league.

You're right, i know hurts can play well and all that, I just have my doubts he can carry a team/mask their deficiencies. we will see though, he did have a bum shoulder down the stretch. I just don't think his running ability will last much longer than a few more years, then it'll be less and less of a factor.

The good news about Brock is that his contract is super cheap for three more years, he currently isn't even counted against the salary cap. That can enable us to really build around him. I think Brock can mask certain aspects of a mediocre roster around him, he will just have to do it different than a guy like hurts, he won't be running a ton. I do like the way he is in the pass game though.

these massive contracts for QBs need to relax. The salary cap isn't going up nearly enough to justify it, even if the cap jumps $60M by 2026. That's only a 22-25% jump in 3 years. From 2018 to present - jimmy had the largest contract at 27.5M a year and now QBs are getting $50M+. Outta control

Oh that's a massive plus with Brock is his contract. We got some guys that are getting a little long in the tooth though and will need to be replaced.

I agree QB contracts are out of control and only gonna get worse.

I wonder if we will see a lot more contracts like Mahommes. If Purdy/Lance even up being the FQB - I wouldn't mind them signing a contract like that. It ends up being good for the team and still gets your guy paid, especially since we can still build around them.

Of course it doesn't mean they are right but thats irrelevant if they've lost faith in Trey right or wrong he has no future here,If you have such little faith in Kyle when it comes to QBs shouldn't that give you doubts about Trey also?

I wanted the Niners to draft Trey before they actually did. So I had my own opinion of Trey.
