2 years and a Whole Lotta Excuses: the Trey Lance Story

This poster here made excuses in the JG thread for nearly two years. And you have the audacity to post something like this? Miss me with that b******t.

week 17 was not the most recent, that either QB has played, it's just some random week
in any event, we are getting in the weeds here, but I don't think we are on the right track if we are looking at SF in 2022 (any game) and CAR in 2022 (any game) and saying we had it as bad as them, that's nonsense, to me.

Whats nonsense is ignoring context for one player but leaning into it over and over for two other players.

At least be consistent.

no it isn't better. I don't compare the 2022 49ers and the 2022 Panthers, as teams on the same level, or equivalent situations. You can pick whatever week you want from each squad, they are two radically different teams, headed in opposite directions, that season. Equating them, is a joke imo.

We are all entitled to our own opinion, I have shared mine
if you want to jump on the CAR and SF were the same dumpster fire last year train, be my guest
Carry is a little lower; ball flip during load is gone; lower is cleaner. LET'S GO, TREY.

startin to look more like his mechanics in college

hopefully no more arm fatigue
[ Edited by DonnieDarko on May 23, 2023 at 1:16 PM ]
So assuming the changes in mechanics stick, there's still more to it than that for accuracy. Has he adapted his timing and anticipation the tiny amount needed to compensate for the changed delivery? Has he figured out how the power he uses on a given throw might be different? Etc.

And he still needs a lot of experience just playing against coverages. The road may still be long.

But, if he can hit the wide open guy, it bodes well for him.
So the arm fatigue was a real thing.
Let's just hope he can keep it up when it's live action. Whoever he worked with this off season should be on deck again next year.

For a solitary week of poor play they were on a very similar level. This isn't rocket science to understand.

Just taking zero away from Treys performance in that game.
Treys throwing motion looks great. Major improvement over how he looked before. Night and day.
