Neither tbh if they stay being conservative when it's training camp then there will be reason for concern. Maybe they were just working on check downs yesterday.

True

Dude doesn't know a damn thing about QB play and mechanics.

Two open OTA practices. We will always overanalyze everything

all TL has done is shorten the loading portion of his delivery and made it more efficient, the rest is the same... still slashing across his body, leading elbow still not high enough over the shoulder plane, still not starting from the ground up and using his legs to release the ball... not expecting much of a change in accuracy, just getting the ball out a little faster and thats about it

You have no idea what you're talking about and this isn't just because of this post. It has been proven time and time again. You can't get simple facts right but we're going to take your criticism on QB mechanics seriously?

I am aware it's unlikely, I'm just saying that would be the best outcome everyone should be rooting for. Having your QB room healthy and competing at the same time and showing who should be the guy based on what they're showing vs their draft status or even what they did last season(when it's a short sample size)

If Brock is that guy then great - we don't have to pay him right away like we did with Jimmy. Lots of years left on his career.
If Trey is that guy then great - likewise and obviously you salvage the draft pick you used for him.
If Sam is that guy it's not ideal but hopefully he would help us win it all and then we worry about paying him after.

Either way you want the best guy now and hopefully for the future of your team cuz I'm so friggin tired of these QB conversations. We gotta find our long term solution!

Well unfortunately, the QB conversation isn't going to stop even if we win a SB. Because if the "wrong guy" wins the SB it will be because of the coach, Defense and supporting cast. No matter the QB, they will not receive any credit. We've seen it with JG taking us to a SB and 2 NFFCCG in 3 years. We seen it with Brock after the year he had last year. It's going to continue to happen.

Let's do it and then find out?

I feel like the fanbase was somewhat in synch in 2019 and then the SB kind of fractured the fanbase.

You're not kidding...

It's somewhat comical. I want Trey to do well but I was laughing at all the dudes taking victory laps when the "Lance taking all 1st string reps" story was regurgitated yesterday morning.

It's like Kyle likes to troll those guys and not shocked at all that Darnold got the first team reps in this open media session.

Wish we had visibility on the other sessions but it's why I don't overreact to camp/preseason. Obviously there are levels to it and to me it's training camp joint practices with another team > preseason > training camp > minicamp > OTAs

But training camp at least will be open to the media for every session IIRC so that will give us a better barometer of where guys are, plus you'll have the full team there hopefully.

No one will question Brock if he has a full season like his stretch last year. Now if he plays like most of 2019 or 2021 Jimmy that's a different story.
The OTAs aren't much more than glorified combines. The biggest difference is all the players are on one team. Even though pre season games often don't have a lot of starters at least they're actual game action. Drills don't have guys trying to take your head off.

Pretty much. TC will have much more availability. Claiming good or bad right now is ridiculous.

Yeah I feel like these OTA's let players put their bodies through some paces to see how healthy they are etc. For example it's good to see Lance healthy again.
Looks like Trey still needs to get the ball down some. His throwing motion is more compact though, and it looks like they are working on footwork. Let's hope it pays off.

From what lol? The mass amounts of tape you've reviewed of him in OTAs?

Apparently both of them are being too conservative. Sam more so than Trey, but both are doing it. Good thing we have Brock. No matter what happens we'll have a guy who can execute and make off schedule plays.

And what's wrong with that? Purdy was conservative and took the shots when things were there...nothing wrong with being conservative especially that's the one area Trey was being criticized for the most was not being accurate in the short areas.

This is a positive thing and not sure why this should be spun into a negative thing

Purdy was not conservative. If anything, at times he's too aggressive.

True

Yeah if it is specially to practice that, then good. Trey needs a lot of work on the layups anyway.
