That's awesome! Hell yeah! I knew he was attacking more often than we've seen in a long long time, but it's cool to see the stats behind it.

he may be limited in arm strength but I mean come on, every quarterback can throw 40 to 50 yards down field and Brock certainly took way more chances than Jimmy Garoppolo ever did WITH SUCCESS

From what lol? The mass amounts of tape you've reviewed of him in OTAs?

I don't understand why you wanna get your panties twisted into a knot over it. I like Trey, but I'm expecting him to show improvement. I'm not one of those partisans who has chosen a player and cannot stand them catching any criticism. From the videos ive seen of Trey throwing, he is still throwing it a bit high. I don't give a f**k which guy starts at qb, as long as he is the best at the job.

I don't consider his arm limited at all. I think it's more than enough. You have to remember that his coaches got his MPh up by five miles and he's going back to them in a few weeks.

you don't need to be able to throw it 70+ yards, it's cool and all but isn't important. Those are low percentage throws anyway. As long as you can hit those in the 30-45 yard range easily - that's more than enough.

i think having a cannon is way over blown. Lol it's just sexy. Tom Brady didn't have one and his arm actually got stronger with working at it, which is what Purdy has done

I agree as well. Though curious why you dropped it in this thread. They do all run together so I get it. Just thought you could have dropped it in the Purdy thread as well at the very least

Kyle doesn't want to attack down the field.

Apparently both of them are being too conservative. Sam more so than Trey, but both are doing it. Good thing we have Brock. No matter what happens we'll have a guy who can execute and make off schedule plays.

And what's wrong with that? Purdy was conservative and took the shots when things were there...nothing wrong with being conservative especially that's the one area Trey was being criticized for the most was not being accurate in the short areas.

This is a positive thing and not sure why this should be spun into a negative thing

Purdy was not conservative. If anything, at times he's too aggressive.

I'll drop this here.

Thank you. The numbers match the eye test. He was NOT a dink and dunker. Yeah, he had more medium range passes than deep ones, but those medium ranged passes add up to an explosive offense.

I thought it added to 5GR post below.

Agreed.

I feel like intermediate chunk plays are under appreciated amongst fans.

Jack lumps regular and post season in there to paint a better picture.

Now question is why was Brock going deep more in the playoffs or why Mahomes wasn't(ankle injury perhaps)

Regular season Brock is actually at 7.6% to Mahomes' 9.7%.

Trey btw also had a 9.7% and that includes the rain game where he had most of his attempts.

They also had Trey charted as making 33% of big time throws(tiny sample size obviously) Brock was at 15.4%, Jimmy G at 25.8% and Mahomes at 31.2%.

But overall Brock being labeled dick n dunk QB is crap. The play that proves that to be a stupid take is the one from the wild card game where he had Deebo open underneath and threw deep to Aiyuk who stopped running his route, looked real bad when it happened but it was clear he saw 1 on 1 with Aiyuk and took a shot. Had Aiyuk not quit on his route it could've been a TD.

A real dink/dunk QB never makes that throw. They take the open throw. And honestly nothing wrong with it as long as you score TDs. If I'm picking a 15 throw TD drive over 1 throw TD drive I'm picking the former every time except when clock is an issue.

Which is why getting a QB who can give you either or consistently is something we should all want to see happen with the 49ers.

That was the point of his tweet. Idk how niner fans can consider him just a dink and dunker after watching him play last year.

First of all my panties are just fine. Second I'm actually curious what videos you're going off of, considering we've only had media access to two practices and even less video of the actual team drills.
