"He played in a run-heavy offense in high school, where he attempted 20 passes in a game just once," Sikkema wrote of Lance. "He then got only one year as a starter at North Dakota State in his entire college career. He backed up Jimmy Garoppolo in 2021, then played just two games as a starter in 2022 before suffering a season-ending ankle injury. There's a ton of promise to him, but we have to see it this summer."

let's hope he has a great camp!

it's mind blowing, I question if they factored it at all into the player evaluation, did they just look at perceived traits, and project him forward based on potential? Would love the tell all book explaining the pick, the thought process, etc.

I think it's funny how people dogging Trey love to downplay the Chicago weather but at the same time have no problem overlooking the fact that arguably Brock's worst performance(as in bad throws without people hitting him or being in his face) was early on in the Seattle game when the rain was coming down and yet nowhere close to what it was in Chicago.

There is a reason those mud games are ugly. You can easily make a case why Brock should be starting over Trey without laughing off the Chicago weather.

ya'll still talking about the weather from however many months ago

Every game happened many months ago... should we stop discussing previous football games all together?

TL on IG... not exactly inspiring confidence with this LOL I suspect he feels the continued growing uncertainty over his future tenure with the 9ers...

still time to get $20 on Offer Up for your Trey Lance jersey before the trade happens when we send him to Minnie for Danielle Hunter

Then Minnesota would finally be an actual contender.

What a weird take. They have an elite offense and a s**t defense. Trey is a complete unknown and will likely take significant time to develop. It would be a clear downgrade at the position initially and who knows what happens going forward.

*elite is probably too strong. Definitely a good to very good offense though*

That's just rumor mill bait for contract discussions with Cousins

You're still talking about Jimmy being up 10 points in the SB

The fact that this is what you took from that video just proves even more that you cannot be objective when it comes to Trey Lance.

Well of course he can't. I feel like that was well established a while ago….it's not like he denies it. Just continues to post nonsense.

If you haven't noticed, this has been a rehash of the same talking points for months now.

Yeah, he entered the league with like 416 pass attempts in his life. That's why I always say it's BS that he has this "massive potential". It's impossible to know but there are a ton of regular situations in football that he has never experienced, so we don't even know how he would do. 2 min drill, back to back losses, game winning drives etc. that stuff to me is what helps determine potential. It's all based off of how hard/far he can throw the ball and run.

he's physically talented but that's literally all we know. I'm not saying he doesn't have talent, we just have no idea how much. All we know for certain is… absolutely nothing. Lol

Completely realistic on a June 14th. This is the kind of objectivity we need infused here.

only reasonable conclusion is that the pick was not made by football coaches for football reasons.... this was an RG3 type of pick and I am certain Shanny was told this is his QB now deal with it make it happen... then Brock happened and bailed him out, so now it is not so imperative to keep forcing this pick along and let nature take it's course
