An argument based on any single stat shouldn't be taken seriously.

As I wrote above, I think the best suggestion is using as many stats as you can find in conjunction with actually watching the games. Stats can point you in a direction to further evaluate. That's about it.

What in the hell does this have to do with Jimmy? On his best days Jimmy was maybe slightly above average as an individual player. He's a bottom 3rd starting option in the NFL. The entire goal was to get improvement at the position. That had not become even close to a reality until Brock's emergence.

Some of you guys just can't have a conversation without making it about other posters and what you believe is hypocrisy, instead of the topic at hand.

No it's that you chose to use that, instead of reality.. there is no one on planet earth, outside of maybe a handful of ppl in this thread, who are pumping up the 2021 HOU pass D. They were terrible. Why do you think they burned a top 3 pick on a DB, then followed it up with a high end round 2 again on DB, right after that season, and fired their HC?

You found whatever can possibly paint them in as good as light as you could possibly find, this terrible pass D, and passed it off as you being 'objective'.

HA oh okay. Saying they're 14 overall pass D per DVOA (which they were) was "pumping" them up 😂

I use football outsiders all the time….Man you got a problem. Maybe take a break from the WZ for a couple days. Chill out a little

These QB threads have gotten beyond f**king obnoxious. You have these 2 sides that keep trying yo downplay one QB to prop up the one they like. It's literally the same s**t regurgitated every day lol

You value it so I point it out. As ive said before it's Iike batting average, it really only tells you who was awful. Otherwise very little value.

You can't even say hey Trey is a good kid. The most innocuous praise possible.

trust me I'm all good, I enjoy debate, I didn't see a HOU pass D is good debate on my schedule today, but this thread lol..
did you see my post on how on a per play basis, they were next to dead last? in pass D?

Lol. Isn't it nearly completely irrelevant to a discussion about play on the field?

I can't think of a QB we had on our roster under Shanahan that didn't at least outwardly appear to be a good human being. Our team is seemingly filled with them, and Trey is no exception.
Lol wild that our QB2, fighting for QB2/3, is currently the fifth highest cap hit on the team.

im not saying this as a knock. I'm just reviewing the salary cap for the next couple years and noticed that. Lol I think I saw it before but I forgot.

I think it's key to our culture. Front office has done a great job of gathering personalities that meld a great & supportive culture. They love football.

i wouldn't say it's irrelevant because it matters when it comes to getting everyone's respect and support when playing with him. If he was a douche but very talented, i think that would impact how the players play for him every play. Not saying they would let him get hit but not care when it comes to maximum effort and genuinely trying your hardest for him.

i do see what you're saying though, it's not the most important variable in regards to his play on the field. I'm just saying I think personality/character is a huge part of being a good QB.

i think a big reason Jimmy was able to keep the team together through the ups and downs of his play because they really liked and cared about him. Wanted to be there for him.

Who said 14th overall pass D was "good"? Nowhere was I saying that. I gave context using a resource that most have labeled in here as reliable/fair.You know unbiased. You got your panties in a bunch because it didn't fit your narrative.

One thing I'm super happy about, aside that we seem to have two extremely talented, extremely young QBs on the roster, is that both of these guys are extremely high character guys/respected in the locker room. No Zach Wilsons here.

The old year 3 and he's not a confirmed bust yet post
why does it bother you ?

why does it bother me that we spent 3 ones on so far zero production to the team, and this is year 3? is that really a question? how could it not bother me.. as a fan of the team? I want positive additions to the club, and to see a 6th SB championship. Does the whole Buck/Kinlaw saga not bother fans as well? Ppl gonna be bothered by this TL move, until we get positive contributions on the field consistently. trumpeting that he's not a bust in year 3, that's not what we were hoping for on draft day, we were hoping for a lil more. It's past time we start getting results, production here. a good offseason would be blowing away Sam, and making KS think twice about playing Brock. you don't raise banners for welp he ain't Zach Wilson, gonna take more than that folks, to justify the investment

Tears everywhere.

Has it been that kind of day in here?

He also argued your point substantively in one of his replies and you haven't responded.

I have no issue with you and I honestly enjoy your passion, but I question whether you're the right person to claim someone else's 'panties are in a bunch'. Your posts, at least on this topic, are definitely emotionally charged.

ahhh they did the same thing last yr. Jimmy was the highest paid backup in the league.
