We gambled and it hasn't worked out, so far

Again, Faithful's point is he prefers to have multiple "shots" rather than just one. I agree. Moving up in the first round (or at all) doesn't work out very often.
I have a feeling you might have to repeat this a couple more times lol
stop being stuck on the amount we gambled with. it didn't effect us. Now we're back to having a first rounder next year

It doesn't effect because they are mitigating the mistakes by nailing other selections. I wish they'd be a bit more disciplined with using draft pick value more effectively but in the aggregate they are still a top 5 management team.

Drafting isn't easy. We had a chance to gamble with minimal damage, so we went for it

Of course it affected us. Whoever we would have selected at 12 plus the picks we gave up could very well have contributed and gotten us over the hump at least once in the past two seasons. They absolutely would have contributed more than Trey has so far, we just don't know how much.

It becomes minimal damage when you potentially make the greatest draft pick ever. The importance of scouting.

Who is this "greatest draft pick ever" you keep referencing? Purdy?

Alex Leatherwood wouldn't have. Rashawn Slater would've been zero help in 2022. Really depends on the player and the circumstances.

Yes. Do you disagree?

Parsons absolutely would have. Although I highly doubt Kyle would have taken him. He prefers "system" guys vs. BPA.

Not to mention we aren't actually settled at the QB position. We have a promising player in a small sample size coming off a major injury.

But that's a hindsight pick now. Ray Lewis and TO wouldve been better than TO and JJ Stokes.

Josh Allen would've won us a ring too if we let Jimmy walk and used the comp pick to trade up for him.

There is absolutely no way we were letting Jimmy walk after what he did in 2017 though. That's a MUCH bigger stretch than just not trading three picks to move up for Trey.

I mean if you want to really go crazy we could have drafted Mahomes instead of Soloman Thomas and Dalvin Cook instead of moving up for Reuben Foster in 2017. Lol

You are right Furlow. 100% basically was on board with paying JG. I think of lot of fans were split on the decision to move up from 12 to 3. And also split on who to take at 3.

That's a kind way of describing it, lol.

We're you advocating for Parsons at the time? I bet you werent. I don't see anyway they are taking Parsons with Warner and Greenlaw there either. So what's the difference? Cowboys didn't even know he could rush like this at first.

Hell Chauncey Gardner Johnson would've given us a legit shot to win a title the last couple years instead of drafting Wish and I WAS advocating for him.
