Not correct. Critical of a separate standard being applied to two different qbs. Criticizing context ad nauseum being applied to Treys play but continually coming up with every reason under the sun to give Sam a pass for his.

At least you said you think they both suck. That's logically consistent.

Yes, sophist. You probably don't know what one is, which confirms your pretentious stoicism.

Guy engaged in Ad Hominem attack accuses others of making fallacious arguments.

I bet your explanation of how not knowing what a sophist is confirms anything to do with stoicism is real interesting.

You're down bad, lol.

Fair enough, but I think that's pretty damn similar to what I said. Either way it had nothing to do with Druckenmiller, lol.

I don't think I've ever said both suck by the way. When I talk about those two players it's usually separate of what I think is the most common context here in the arguments about them: who would be good as a long term starter here. For me, the appropriate context is who would be best to play short term in a pinch (spot starting etc).

Ask the guy comparing Sam Darnold potential to Steve Young

Potential to Steve Young or just a similar story? I mean we've spent the last few pages hearing that Trey could be the next Peyton Manning because Manning had bad stats in his first three starts. At least Darnold has had some actual success in the NFL. And by "6 games" I'm assuming you're referring to last season? Which would mean you think he showed NO potential in the years prior?

He has very little to me unless Kyle can break all his bad habits. He has CJ Beathard level pocket presence. The most likely scenario is another Blaine Gabbert.

Best case scenario would be him sitting all 23 and reworking everything with Griese.

Oh the irony, your whole shtick is passive aggressiveness and condescension.

Has he though?

The one narrative I find silly, is that the Niners have never giving Lance a chance. They absolutely have. Lance just hasn't shown much with his chances and has had a tough time staying healthy.

look at Purdy, came off the bench, against a top team many had us losing to, and starting dropping dimes. Right off the bat showed he belong.

Now compare Lance vs the Hawks and cardinals, and Purdy vs Dolphins and Bucs, night and day.

If we're comparing can we look at the whole picture or just leave it as Trey didn't light the world on fire and Brock did?

notice any difference in playcalling for each guy? Want to compare the experience level for each and who they had available when they came in?
Man this thread was better locked lol

Way too much personal stuff here.

Hope the season gets here quick. Seems like all this has driven a lot of folks away and the only ones left standing are a handful who just use the site as a platform to spew hate towards players on what should be their favorite football team. When a handful of others clap back defending these players, round and round it goes.

3 starts. That's all he has under his belt. 3 starts is not enough for all the crap this kid takes from the media. It's painful to watch and listen to. Give him a fair shot to perform then speak your mind. Just don't bury the kid before he gets his shot to play…

We don't need to give him anything. Idk why fans want everything given to him

He opted for the NFL on that one miraculous FCS season. Should have stayed in college at least another year, but he didn't want to risk his draft positioning I guess. He did what he had to and earned 35M at age 20.

This is a really dumb take imo. The guy went 3rd overall with Trevor Lawrence being one of the guys ahead of him.

He opted for the NFL after his 3rd season in college, much like other guys do. I'm sure if he had a choice he would've played a full season with NDS in 2020 but covid had other plans. There was no reason for him to go back. You guys are simply using hindsight now but I can guarantee you sitting and learning on the bench of an NFL team would still be better long term for him than going back for another season in the FCS, not to mention the potential for injury/draft stock to be lower.

Lance didn't opt out for the covid year like Parsons, Chase and other high end prospects, he simply got screwed by covid and schools canceling their games. If anything kudos to him for playing the one game they had as it was the one ugly game he had in his college career.

He redshirted one year and still didn't earn his degree despite the 2020 season basically being cancelled? Is this true? He still doesn't have a college degree? I'll stop here as maybe he earned it really fast or something.

Yes, as I implied, there probably was a primary reason for him not to go back one more year but if he did, and he did well, it could have solidified his chance at #1 overall with Kenny Pickett and Desmond Ridder as his only competition in 2022. Why did he come out in a draft with the likes of Lawrence, Wilson, Fields, McCorkly? Because of all the hype/intrigue about his past performance, measurables, and potential ceiling. He absolutely fleeced the 49ers. And in hindsight it was a dumb decision (so far) on his part to join the NFL in 2021 because he was drafted by the 49ers and they absolutey f**ked him up.

With all this said I really hope Trey turns a corner this year and puts Purdy and Darnold in his rearview mirror permanently as QB1 for the 49ers. If he can we are going to the moon for sure. Chances of this happening though?
They should trade em asap. Was an awful pick.

I'm by no means an expert on the matter, but I don't think that's how or why trades work.
