I keep using the example with LA, if they kept Goff and moved up for Lance would they start Goff all year? I highly doubt it. Do we think Andy Dalton will be starting all year in Chicago? Hell even Jackson started 7 games his rookie yr (went 6-1) and IMO he was more raw as a passer then Lance.
Unless he's completely lost in TC & his mechanics aren't there yet, he will get his shot sooner than later...it's what happens in the NFL for 1st rd QBs. I think there was 3 QBs draft in the 1st rd that didn't start at some point their rookie yr since 2010 (you can go further back than that as well).
Both situations were a bit different.
Goff was on the decline in 2019 and 2020, Garoppolo just can't stay healthy.
Lamar started because Flacco was injured for 4 games. He played 5 games vs teams with losing records. He was mostly successful because the defense held most teams under 20 points and he ran for 80 yards per game and 5 TDs. I don't see Trey doing that (nor being asked to), nor will he have the benefit of an easy schedule.

Looks like after working out with Q Avery an the crew at the QB takeover, he's been working with Jevaughn Pinnock who's a sports performance/Movement specialist and Spellman Performance. Nice he's gonna be ready to roll coming training camp

Goff this past season was 3rd in the league in 3rd down completions ( I know we love that in the Jimmy thread) He was only behind Allen/Mahomes. Had his highest completion % in his career. He's not an amazing QB by any stretch of the imagination but he was still winning games, which is what I've been told that's all that matters
I mean in 2017 Jimmy played 2 teams with a losing record (in 5 games) and a LA Rams team in week 17 that sat all their starters, teams avg 19.8 pts vs our defense over that stretch. Like Lamar, Jimmy won. Lamar then went out and had a MVP season the following yr. I'm guessing those games in his rookie year helped him.
FWIW 49ers have the easiest schedules in the NFL this yr.

he cost 3 1sts and a 3rd theres no false narratives, there are expectations already set that the team put on him.

What does this have to do with what we're talking about? He absolutely already has high expectations because of what was spent on him/where he was drafted.

I wouldn't put too much weight on this. Has the 49ers as the easiest schedule and Rams as 23rd. The only difference in their games:
Rams play Bucs vs Niners play Falcons
Rams play Ravens vs Niners play Bengals
Rams play Giants vs Niners play Eagles (a wash as both are about the same)
Two games is the difference between the easiest schedule and one of the hardest? GTFO

At the end of the day, nobody has any idea how the QB situation will shake out. This will probably be the most intriguing training camp/pre-season that we've ever seen.
Could Trey benefit from being put in the lineup this season? Sure.
Could he sit an entire season and still perform at a high level the next season like Mahomes? Yes.
Could he play the majority of the season, perform well, and then regress the next season like Daniel Jones? Absolutely.

That factors more then who they play…go click on the article.
stuff they take into account for example.
-stretches between road game
-straight home games/away games
-Most games vs opponent off bye
-primetime games
-Best/worst net rest differential
-Opposing QB Strength etc…
that graph has LA as 18th not 23rd.

It's been updated since that May 12th tweet. None of those things matter for this graph. It is solely based on projected win totals of their opponents.
