How much better do you believe Fields would look in SF compared to CHI? pic.twitter.com/9tjOxmma13
i wonder how true this is. That was my draft crush 😭
IF this is true, then it's no wonder Lynch wants to move off of Trey, in all Lynch's interviews all you hear from is mouth is 13, 14 and 4 competing, I think KS has final say and is like f@ck you to lynch, cause there are some picks that lynch probably made that KS didn't like, Solomon Thomas at 3rd overall for example lol
Fields sucks too. Dont like either at this pount

I heard another zoner say Fields sucks a page ago. He doesn't suck, at all. He was in Chicago in a bad team and still did OK yr 1. Year 2 he was good. Year 3 I expect him to be a beast and he woulda looked good in crimson and gold.
Yeah Fields looks good. No need to pretend he sucks. He doesn't at all.
Not pretending, he has done nothing other than run around. Overated at this point until proven otherwise.

I was watching him last year, late season he was throwing dimes, from the pocket. On a team with no real receivers, outside of Mooney who was his #1. This season, Mooney is his #3.
We will be probably forever tied to this guy as a what might have been, cuz of the TL selection over JF. Same with Aaron Rodgers / Alex.

here's a question...was Trey's zero interception 2019 season at NDSU related to being hesitant to throw into small windows?
He rarely threw into small windows. Also, I remember counting 2 or 3 dropped INTs, so he wasn't perfect.
Yeah, nearly all of his throws were about wide open as you can get.
Watson had 6 TDs and 34 catches in 2019 and was by far the fastest player on the field every game.

Dimes....we will see. Such an over reaction.
He hasnt done anything consistently to this point.
This whole thing with Field feels more like a grudgy 49er fan and an I told you so from the 2021 draft to which Fields hasnt proven anything. So far Lawrence is the only one that seems to have emerged from that class. He is on s**t team too.

That's how I feel too. You've seen fields flash some really special things, and you've seen him struggle, but you've seen it in him. I haven't seen Lance flash anything special in his few games. He may have it, I just agent seen it in the few games he's played. Then again, it's only a few games.lol

Mobile QBs wont last unless they are using their mobility as a secondary skill to elude the pass rush and extend plays. Everyone gets excited about players like Jackson for example but eventually they need to be a QB and that exposes their lack of ability to be a true QB.

The funny thing about this Fields talk is that for the first handful of games, Fields looked horrible as a passer. Just awful. I dont think he flashed anything special in his first handful of games.
Now Fields has 25 starts under his belt. Lance has 4. And yet people wonder why Fields looks further along in his development.

Hmmm. Do you feel that Lamar Jackson has been doing what you outline for the duration of his career thus far?

Yes that is exactly what I am saying. IMO, because of where Trey was being drafted, Kyle had no choice but to named Trey as the starter, and was just hoping Trey made the jump in his 2nd season, but he did not. That was why Kyle got Jimmy back, and Kyle was ready to benched Trey anytime. He didn't have to do that because Trey got injured. Nobody wants Trey to get hurt for sure, but I sensed relieved to the whole team including Kyle and teammates when Jimmy got on the field in week 2.
Are you seriously saying Trey is better than Jimmy G right now? I say no, not even close.
a lot of people on this board thought Trey was waaaaay better than Jimmy.
A lot of people on this board HOPED Trey was waaaaay better than Jimmy.
Their hopes have not yet been realized.
I think I would have to respectfully disagree with that proposed caveat. Though there were certainly those who took a more tempered approach to the question there was a lot of, let's just say, "unsubstantiated" belief in Trey's potential from the moment he got drafted. I distinctly remember commenting on it at the time because, quite frankly I don't recall having ever seen anything quite like it.
During his first training camp posters were saying things like, "Oh, he's going to be an elite runner in this league", "Oh, he probably already knows the playbook better than Jimmy." "Oh, he's going to open up the playbook downfield", which may have had an element of truth in it but based on Purdy's play last year, which Kyle has praised, it doesn't seem like the downfield came is an integral part of Kyle's scheme. The shots are there, but the priority seems to be getting the ball out of your hands quickly and accurately and let the playmakers do their thing. I realize that is a very abridged assessment, but I think it is essentially true. It's not a mad bomber offense.
I think the bottom line is that there are a lot of people in here who will never forgive Jimmy for missing that pass to Sanders and so they build up these narratives around the idea that some raw, untested player, is going to be better than him because, well because, he missed that pass to Sanders, gosh darn it. Just my take mind you.
