Media just putting out rumors now to get more clicks. Jed had no involvement other than saying "get us a good player".

I don't think anyone really knows that for certain except ShannaLynch.

You think Jed doesn't remember whether he did that or not? Drink too much too often?

loose lips sinks ships, I wouldn't expect ShannaLynch to let this slip out until later when they are wearing a diaper

ah you know how it works, if the guy who signs your checks wants something you do it or go home... KS is still here

Yea but Kyle has effectively mutinied in the past when an organization has gone against his choice, and that was with considerably less power than he holds here. We'd know about this if Kyle didn't want Trey. Kyle doesn't give Lance the job last year without competition if he didn't want Trey.

At worst he may have liked both Jones and Lance and preferred Jones, and was incentivized by 'others' to choose Lance. He could have been convinced. He could have outright decided to go with Lance with no convincing needed.

Nobody knows that!

It's one thing for Shanny to walk away from Cleveland OC, he could OC anywhere, but you just don't walk if you are the 9ers HC it's a dream job

You do if you're forced to play someone you don't want to play. Especially since i believe he asked for final say. (If im not mistaken,) Then you let the whole world know what went down. He'd have no problems finding another HC job.

i wonder how true this is. That was my draft crush ????

IF this is true, then it's no wonder Lynch wants to move off of Trey, in all Lynch's interviews all you hear from is mouth is 13, 14 and 4 competing, I think KS has final say and is like f@ck you to lynch, cause there are some picks that lynch probably made that KS didn't like, Solomon Thomas at 3rd overall for example lol

Fields sucks too. Dont like either at this pount

Purdy>Darnold>Field>Lance

I heard another zoner say Fields sucks a page ago. He doesn't suck, at all. He was in Chicago in a bad team and still did OK yr 1. Year 2 he was good. Year 3 I expect him to be a beast and he woulda looked good in crimson and gold.

A beast like Marshawn Lynch?

Not necessarily

Yeah Fields looks good. No need to pretend he sucks. He doesn't at all.

Not at all. Anyone here says he does is just angry we didn't draft him. Fields with Deebo and Aiyuk, yikes. That woulda been dope.

I've been saying all along that Fields looked better than Lance when they played each other. Then the TL lovers blames a "monsoon". But Fields was playing in the same conditions and won it and looked a much better QB. The last ten minutes of that game was garbage but the rest wasn't and Trey just did not shine.

looks like I was right, they're swapping to even out the reps

Make sense especially if Darnold is the QB2 frontrunner.

TL is screwed, he had his chance last week... now he has to split reps with Brandon Allen in the second half with the backups to the backup scrubs... and TL stans have no fantasy of him starting the 3rd game as Brocky is most likely going to play the first half as a tune up with the other starters.

I was hoping TL would ball out so it would enhance his trade value, but obviously that back fired.

Good call tank. I would like to see BP get some PS action, maybe final game? If he can play a full game vs PIT, he can play a series in late Aug.

I think Kyle will play it by ear though. If darnold looks good and has a really crisp first couple series - he'll pull him to give some reps to Lance to see how he looks.

Agreed. 3 straight drives that we move the ball well he will get Lance in. He knows Treys gotta be in the water if he's ever gonna learn to swim

Who cares about what anybody else is doing, how is Trey Lance performing? Well, the best analysis I've seen thus far comes from JT O'Sullivan and he's not liking what he is seeing. He introduces the concept of turn downs, or routes that should have been thrown to but weren't.

JTO did a great breakdown. You could hear how frustrated he was analyzing the plays. I could only imagine how Kyle felt.
Sammy needs the reps, new system new receivers... if he is QB2 he needs to play the first half

So Sam gets to play with the starting oline and recievers?... and Trey gets what in the second half?

Grant will have a field day with this one. Kyle is making it too easy for him.

Yeah that's why I think there's a real chance KS does something here. I wonder if he feels this is fixable.

i wondered what turn down meant, like he asked someone out and got turned down... in this case the receiver flashed open for the ball and got turned down by TL

Dude was hesitant early in that preseason game for sure. No way around it. I thought he improved a little as the game went on.

it's funny I watched all of Brock's throws from the Dallas game today and I saw two plays that were identical to what Lance did. He hesitated and the play was a negative. It shows that every young QB (especially one with damn near no legit starts) has those moments.

He did not really improve as the game went on....the last 3 or 4 plays were against a prevent that was giving the middle of the field up.

Trey had one good throw, you could argue every other throw minus the last 2 and the screen are probably bad throws or not what the 49ers wanted from those snaps.

If we are going to argue Trey raiders game vs Brock and the cowboys......

I am pretty sure most posters can get the difference between a 3 year vet in a throw away pre-season game and a rookie qb in a win or go home playoff game.
You would think lol

Who cares what Grant thinks. It's about the QB making the correct read not if they have success

believing random unsourced media rumors over Shanny's own words? lol.
